WW3RP Li-On statue

This might be one of the most obscure threads ever made, but does anyone recall what the meaning of the Li-On statue was? I have a screenshot of it from the BCN WW3RP server:

It was part of the STALKER prop pack we had on every iteration. Eventually it was jokingly called ‘Li-on’ because it usually stood in the Coalition / soviet base and they made Lion sound asianish.

It became a core ww3rp trend to include it on every map either in base or as easter egg on the field. For a while people even kneeled in front of it before going on patrols
