IMPORTANT INFO

What?

A full, open-to-all WW3RP server featuring elements from various previous iterations blended together for your pleasure and entertainment.

The server is intended to run for as long as there's interest and people enjoy it. The main focus will be the coming summer period, but there's plans beyond that if the situation warrants it.

Make sure to check out the dedicated forum section for further reading, applications, space to write stuff such as character biographies and ofcourse the official WW3RP meme screenshot thread!

When?

The current preliminary launch date is set on Saturday, 9th of July around 7pm GMT+1.
This may change based on circumstances although almost all development is done as of this moment.

SERVER OVERVIEW

Naturally we'd be thrilled to have you read up on the lore we have prepared for our next adventure. This can be found HERE.

Both "army" factions and their conflict will serve as the main focus of the server. Both the NATO and Coalition forces will each have detachments for players to specialize themselves in. Naturally, each faction will have several layers of hierarchy ambitious characters may climb.
Despite gameplay being relatively similar between factions, we've done our best to give each faction unique distinguishing features and overall style.

While the server will be making a return to form with patrol/team-based combat, we've opted to include some popular features from iterations such as Stasiland. For example, we'll be providing certain detachments and characters with the means to fight a more roleplay-focused shadow war amidst the chaos of open conflict.

Expanding on the above, I firmly believe we should embrace the mix of S2K- and RP-focused players and enable them in their respective interests.

We've also aimed to reduce the lengthy rulebook we had in previous "classic" iterations. Players will notice a less heavy focus on medical, (involuntary) prisoners-of-war and squad restrictions.
Our goal is to have the battlefield feel more alive, meaning we've thought about ways to have as many people as possible outside the base and spread out across the map as often as possible.

Like previous iterations, the "neutrals" will be an open-to-all faction that is completely free aside from some basic gameplay and balancing rules. This provides players the opportunity to create unique characters and either be the 'innocent bystander' just surviving or an independent or aligned gunman fighting the war by himself or with associates.
Due to the heavy urban nature of some of the maps we've lined up we'll be encouraging all factions, but the local population in particular, to make use of all the map has to offer. As such we're aiming to be open and assisting to things such as claiming buildings for groups, fortifying map positions, setting up communities or expanding zones of influence through building small forward bases.

The only whitelisted faction will be the dog, mainly due to quality control. This bonus faction will serve as your local ambient gimmick, loyal companion or food source.

THE SETTING

We'll be using the lore that started with the 1983 iteration back on LP as a foundation, including the events of Stasiland and advancing it into the pre-contemporary modern age.

The world has changed enormously since we strayed from our own timeline back in 1983. The relatively quiet stalemate following the fracturing of the Warsaw Pact is about to be broken by the first step towards settling the score once and for all. NATO's various Task Forces are engaged with the legions of the Coalition around the globe. The ones currently reinforcing and training in the United States, awaiting deployment to the front, won't be expecting the bold offensive their newly united adversary has in store for them.

Following the 'Red Dawn' concept scenario, we'll be using the new North American theatre of war as the opening setting for the server. With offensives both on the West and East coast of the US, our starting environment will be the Battle for New York City.

As of right now we're working hard to get everything set up and ready to go. Thankfully I've spent a great deal of time already working on stuff as a hobby knowing that I'd want to do a WW3RP thingie at some point. We'll be using the period of waiting until launch to flesh out the factions, open up applications for positions and recruit staff to help us add the final finishing touches.

"food source", can't wait...

Seriously this is super exciting and I'm really looking forward to this iteration! Does this mean the WW3RP Archive is coming back? ;)

I assume by "Local Population" you mean "Unarmed Combatants"?

Also assuming, but are those secretive combat intel guys supposed to be the 'Special Forces' this time around, or are they more like a conventional intelligence service.

i was big time SF fan but honestly may just be able to avoid a lot of the toxicity that came with old style WW3RP by not having SF as a playable faction anymore
