this is the thing it's memeing on
basically some wacky thread about how film is inherently masculine
oh
so basically some sore guy complaining about the writer's/author's choice at such detriminal stuff, to talk about their political and or social insecurities about the way of how the writer/author did it
hell this is meme material

can i get a full review of lighthouse
great film, top tier performances from pattinson and dafoe - a career best from pattinson, who holds the movie together like ive never seen before from him, so exciting to see him do projects like this and High Life

eggers has once again made an intense and beautiful movie with a rich attention to authentic characters, spaces and language (as with the witch before it) - shot on location in nova scotia and spoken in authentic dialects of the profession/region/time

the soundtrack is stunning and minimalistic, the sound overall is just excellent, ambience and texture is masterful, you can tell that the pre and post production on this film was second-to-none

the film also goes hard in the paint for lovecraftian overtones and that makes it probably the best film of that vague genre

a fantastic film that i cant wait to see again

It's nice now I'm older to see actors who I'd previously thought were shit and wrote off due to stuff like Twilight/my own inexperience be able to come into their own in roles that let them express themselves and make me appreciate their talents.

Same with Kristen Stewart, though she's had a few more hit-or-miss roles I think.

stewart is also incredibly talented, so much of the criticism about the twilight saga can be directed straight at meyer's awful script and spineless directors unwilling or unable to make an effort

Question is

Will be play a good Batman?
dont know why he's wasting his efforts on it

fanboys will never likely accept him, huge potential of being a cursed project like batman v superman rather than a joker style success

I dunno, there was a lot of push against Michael Keaton when it was announced he was gonna play Batman

And he did amazing in the role.

if the next batman film was about the demented mind of a man who thinks it makes sense to dress up like a bat in order to avenge his dead parents then that'd be pretty cool

instead it'll probably just be another punchathon

No doubt a lot of avid moviewatchers have heard of this one. Saw this one in cinema last night and honestly a really great movie. It follows the story, loosely based upon truth, of corporal Blake and corporal Schofield sent on a dangerous task through no-mans land to warn the 2nd Devons regiment of the Germans planned strategic retreat.

The mission itself is a race against time but it has little to do with the subject matter of the movie itself. It plays a small part in a movie designed to show the horrors of the first world war, from wading through a field of mud, corpses and barbed wire to passing a large, water-filled bomb crater spurned with the dead. Some of the scenes in no-mans land combined with the amazing soundtrack left myself in awe.

Cinematography was truly on point as this movie seems to be mostly about the visual but thats not to say that the story wasnt great on its own. The concept of the movie being in only a few takes was interesting but at some points felt drawn out, though it may just be my personal opinion that it was. I counted 3 different cuts in the movie, the largest being 1 hour long. Thats honestly a great feat of both acting and perfection from the production team as at a few points make-up was changed whilst the camera-angle allowed it to. Had the actors messed up at certain points like this they would have had to shoot the entire take again.

Soundtrack was 100% fitting to the movie from the action scenes to the calmer scenes, the song 'Gehenna' is played during the journey through no-mans land in the first quarter of the movie and is probably my favorite, would definitely recommend checking out the full soundtrack however.

all in all this movie is a solid 8-8.5/10 from me. Would definitely recommend watching this.

i like it

better than spectre and quauntum, about the same as i liked skyfall's theme, but nothing beats Casino Royale's "You Know My Name"
