if someone broke into your house, right this instant, how would you defend yourself?

this is a shit argument to ask really because the castle doctrine doesn't really apply to places outside of america and other countries where the concentration of gun ownership is high

if a person broke into your house unarmed, would you shoot them on the principle that they've broken in to your property?

in places like england if a person breaks into your house with a knife, the intent to kill clear, you can do something such as grab a blade and stab em back on the grounds of self-defense. but if a person breaks into your gaff with nothing but their hands and you stab them you're getting put up to a jury. it's all about reasonable force

idk I wouldn’t expect anybody to be able to probably assess the situation and respond measurably. Most people would be freaking out and either attempt to flee or fight, if someone breaks into your house with whatever intentions you should reserve the right to fuck them up.

unless the guy is screaming “HELP PLEASE IM GETTING MURDERED” and is seeking immediate refuge yes

usually people breaking into places could have the intent to strip your property or worse, your life

even then I don’t judge people hopped on adrenaline

this isn’t a fucking debate thread cut your innate demand for starting shit

yh course but in places like the uk it's different to the us because you'll get your cunt kicked in if you try it
in the us you'll shoot 1st and ask questions later

same in the uk really

mostly just crackheads trying to grab bikes or laptops in the middle of the night without being caught

pistol holdup home burglaries seem like more of an american thing

it depends, if you’re a rich cunt some people will just run in whether you’re home or not. Either way you never know what that persons intentions are or how they might react to your presence, you should always have some kind of weapon at the ready just in case

If someone breaks into my home, I don't know who they are or what they want. The punishment for stealing should not be death, but at that point I'm not protecting my property, I'm protecting my life. Anyone who willingly bashes in my door / window and comes inside is a threat to my life. Castle doctrine is acceptable in the case that you feel your life is threatened. People have been arrested for a premeditated use of castle doctrine, which is super illegal and immoral.

For the sake of argument if you come at me trying to deliver my mail, if I had to defend myself inside my apartment I'm watching you through my peephole, if I have to shoot through a crowd of people to defend myself. it's 5 pm. it's a self-defense situation, I'm not going to happy about the devastation but I will be happy that I've defended my own life.

Just pull out your Peacekeeper if you are ever cornered or in a self-defence situation.
