game crashes when trying to pick up item (error message: cmeshdx8 vertex lock buffer error)

whenever i press e on an item ingame, it crashes with the error message above.

my pc is currently running with artix linux, and gmod runs with opengl. i don't believe im using 100% of my memory when i try to pick something up.

unfortunately only videos on it are made in 2010 and dont work, so if anyone else has had this issue, whats up?

I managed to fix it by deleting all the Gmod files on my computer then reinstalling
