theyre on the server subeh you said you want them to attack us instead of just defending. they already have most of the map its not like theyre being told to just sit at outpost donut

the idea that ota are just a defense force is pretty underwhelming

i did, and now that i've seen how beneficial to the atmosphere they are as a defense force i've changed my mind on that matter; i'm now personally quite content with the idea that they're only a defense force.

i still wouldn't mind seeing them as an offensive force but i know that aint gonna happen

the point is that ota have a blatant advantage over everyone else so if the server sticks with s2k

the only advantage we currently have is our innate teamwork and in strategic advancements
we are limited by both equipment, ooc stats and numbers

something thats already gamey as fuck and doesnt take roleplay into account

s2k never has been about roleplay
it can never coexist with how it is currently utillized

allowing ota who arent developed characters to go on the offensive and s2k rebels is not a fun idea

would you rather have robertson smith, member of the 25th battalion who has had no prior engagement nor seen the city before suddenly get the drop on a two year old character?

pretending it isn't is hopeful at best

the argument of under/undeveloped characters killing characters isnt new
nor is it when literal inanimate objects kill you, forces of nature or even the fucking enviroment, which are all forces which are not followed by the heroic or epicism of the legendary duel between bob hero and john antihero

if you want to die in roleplay don't fucking engage in s2k, simple as

if its in events or s2rp or some shit like that sure idc but not if its just a bunch of union players that flag off their characters with personalities and development and hop into disc with the boys to go own some rebels with no consequences

sure you don't have some issues (and the same could be said if you removed rebels and had them played by staff) but you're also telling ~45% (?) of the playerbase to fuck off, stop playing their preferred side and forcing them to play a faction they might not want to play

this event is lasting for a month+. telling a sizable chunk of the playerbase to fuck off for a month, abandon the characters they want to play so staff can play them instead just isn't fair

additionally? we may not be returning to city rp by the end of this (i say "may not" because seemingly nobody knows what the plan is after this) meanwhile we did for bitter lake.

as i've said about 5 times the event players would've just been the same union players anyway and also half of the playerbase would've been fucked over
