I've tried that, ponytailed excess hair and did it with the front of my hair.

@MaXenzie okay so this one will require matienence, and training your hair. if you don't want to do all that,then you're limited on most hair styles because often you need to work to make your hair look good. This is a fade to blended haircut,that's slicked back. This is mainly what my hair looks like, and I get a lot of positive feedback from it.

Since you have a strong jawline and chin, your options are widened. If you want something shorter than the undercut above, i recommend getting somthing along these lines.

Now if you don't feel like cutting your hair what so ever, you could do a topknot or bun style. Since your hair (appears to be) is layered, you
can layer the topknot/bun so you get the rest of the hair under it. I'm not too sure what you are looking for, so I'll need your feedback, but the verdict from me is atleast time it down so it's not so "ponce" as you said.

Was done by someone that had about as much control over my hair as Britain does over the EU.
