hi

so i have two hard drives on my pc, c and d, both of which have 950 gigs of storage each. i store all my steam games and whatnot on my d drive.

so uh, idk why, but my c drive says it has 486 gigs of shit on it but i know for a fact that it doesn't. i've tried optimizing, defragging, checking for viruses, searching for hidden files and read-only files but it's come up empty. the drive is fine and i have no viruses or malware on my computer.

i also don't have this problem on my d drive. the d drive is totally fine.

....Have you tried looking for another partition? You might have accidentally just misappropriated space during partitioning?

Pull up Disk Management and take a look at your drive.

nope. checked every directory in the c drive with winderstat and it only shows around 150 to 200 gigs.

Also suggest trying
win+r
%temp%

Then removing everything in that folder, it might not fix your problem completely but it will get rid of some unnecessary folders.
