Jeez lads I'm so fucked up over this show once again, year in year out it stays so undeniably heartbreaking yet equal parts hilarious, I'm really looking forward to its return next year, endgame seems like it's actually being set up, let's get some Bojack love going before I turn into a wreck over that finale one more time. I honestly never thought I'd be so invested in a show about a depressed cartoon horse lmao.

I have to say, I genuinely believe this is the best season yet. On a side note, I believe the wordplay and jokes have improved several fold over the last season, while I am also happy to see they used Todd's asexuality for some humorous side plots instead of it just being a shoehorned character trait, while the political-social commentary is far more subtle

That whole Philbert opioid trip was actually so fucking surreal to watch, I’ve never been made so uncomfortable by a sequence ending in song and dance lool

Did you stop watching it cause you thought it seemed too generic? The writing takes a little to find its footing but I guarantee the show’s genuinely good by the second half of season one onwards, s3 takes a lil dive but the rest carry it and it’s still impactful in its own way, watch the show pham

it just wasn't that interesting yeah

it felt a little too generic in the "woe is me" department like you said but i'll probably give it a go tonight and see if it catches me

Yeah they really build on the emotional depth by mid season one, it just takes a while to slow cook and get you to empathise with the characters

The only other season that's held a candle to it so far in my opinion is season two, and that's probably only cause of 'Escape from L.A'.

it delves into so many things at once, i could honestly write essays on individual topics in the show.

  • depression & how it's tied into mental illness, what causes it, how it effects everyone involved & above all, how it shows bojack as someone who's a victim of his own mind, while not excusing him from his behavior.

  • how the media is basically the fucking worst, while also putting a human face onto why it's inhabitants don't feel to blame. every time the media is dragged into any point, it's to make it worse. that doesn't mean the people involved are as bad as the media machine- you've got diane, arguably the person with the most morally upright ideas, who works for a faux-feminist girly-girl clickbait website.

  • a look into celeb/hollywood life and inhumanity of it all.
what i think it does best is look at these absolutely terrible systems or situations and reveal the humans that run them. the little things, like hollywood childstars being completely doomed, or the fake lives that any celebrity has to live.

this season was fucking great, from the jokes to the depressing parts to the realization of what is happening to bojack. this show really knows how to fuck with you

  • [*]princess carolyn is not gonna be able to deal with the stress of the baby
[*]mr peanutbutter is gonna go through his marriage with peanuts with the guilt of shagging diane, probably gonna be a blow off at the actual wedding
[*]bojack actually might make a recovery but get shot down by something that happened in his past
[*]todd will found bethesda and create skyrim
[doublepost=1537623429][/doublepost]also holy shit flip was voiced by rami malek no wonder the fucker was so creepy

That was a nice watch actually, especially since this kinda shed more light on how Bojack's actions effect others, and it explored other character's backstories with a bit more depth rather than focusing on the Horse who somehow hasn't OD'd yet.

he's a horse, it takes a lot for him to OD
