what ideas have you had for a roleplay server (can be any game, any world, any idea) that you could never personally implement ever? have you ever had a specific idea for a server that would probably not take off or work due to technical limits?
my personal idea would be something based off The Electric State book, which would boil down to "oh falloutrp but different name" if it weren't for:
A. the only race other than humans are robots/drones that sorta fucked about in post-war america like the humans. in the book the drones mostly play the role as the scary monsters, but there's some droids and shit that have human consciousness in them for some reason
B. america and it's "government" is still soomewhat functional after the war, but it's far more anarchic. there's still "police officers" (mostly sheriffs i guess), i don't think the army exists anymore though, most ex-military dudes joined private companies. people who weren't affected by the war still looted and shit as if the actual apocalypse was upon them, like escape from tarkov. the biggest effect on america is the sort of global-warming induced extreme weathers
c. there's a household-brand vr headset that allows you to do virtually anything inside that, say, a computer in our current time could do, and some more. some of the drones took advantage of this during the war and now there's a bunch of humans who's minds have been taken over by the drones, and despite their possession their motor functions are still intact so they're often used as soldiers of sorts. anyways, the vr headset slowly rots your brain until you eventually kill yourself, but they provide unimaginable knowledge and power
ironically there already is an Electric State roleplay server on roblox and it uses a ton of half life assets so gmod gamers btfo
