Yo meet up place for the people that wish to share their CSGO moments and or screenshots. Or just overall funny videos about the game and it's e-sport scene.

This game still has me hooked on it for about 2 years. And that's not that hard.

Tbh, I never understood the appeal of cs.

Seems like a massive dick waving contest with all of these ranks and how skilled you are.

Isn't that every multiplayer game ever? Even HL2RP is a massive dick waving contest with CP ranks and whitelist etc.

I mean like come on. Ranks are just a skill group you play in so that you play with other people that are (almost) just as a good as you.

Being Global or being silver doesn't mean shit. It's just fun to compete against other people. That's what I get out of these games. Feels fucking amazing when you go bezerk and carry a team or clutch that important round because there is something at stake.

Eh, I dunno.

I just felt cs and css was really daunting and overbearing to get into.

Then again, I do love games like Stellaris, kotor and EvE online.

Not getting screamed at so often in those, so you can learn without being demoralised

Back in CSS, I was a server admin for a NYC Pub server with a dedicated playerbase of guys like Comic, Goober420, Shanks4Giggles and a bunch of other players I can't even remember the names of anymore. It was a great sense of community, we ended up all getting into League of Legends during the beta and eventually the server died. I ended up getting to known the server owner pretty well. He lived in the Bronx, grew up in the Projects and was living at home with dad because of the rough economy. He was good with computers, and he got a job with some big retailer in the PC section. Made computers on the side as he tried to support his father in his rough days. I checked up on him and I asked him how his father was doing and sadly he passed. He was probably around his mid forties and I felt like he was always a child at heart, or at least that's how he always acted like it. He was a funny guy, a wise guy. Someone that was fun to have a laugh with but at the same time, I realized he was living a pretty rough life. He had friends of course, but he was also alone with no real family of his own. His community was something he always loved, and he was really engaged with everybody in it on Ventrilo. Sure, there was dramatics, but nothing serious. League of Legends changed all of that. It was the game that broke the camels back, sure we all played it together, but that's where tensions rose. The better players started to leave other behind, thinking they could go out and play ranked and some of us stayed behind, just playing normals for the fun of it. It was the game that tore the community apart, and things were never the same.

When you all say that 'Counter-Strike isn't fun/good' or whatever you want to say, just remember that there was more to Counter-Strike than these stupid fucking competitive match ups. Pubs were so much more better, and you always knew the people you were killing, and you always had a back and forth playful competition with people you felt were friends. Hearing the server owner losing his shit when he's spectating a blatant hacker is priceless. My experience playing all eras of Counter-Strike was priceless.

When I started there weren't many good multiplayer games. Back then it was just like Age of Empires II, Runescape, Aliens vs Predator, Quake II, and then the Half-Life mods. There was a popular scene involving community servers and often LAN events/hangouts where you could all be in a match together shouting at eachother.

The Counter-Strike series has always been about the high-framerate of small maps in an optimised game engine and focusing on mechanical skill. Steam was pretty much built around serving the playerbase of it, and it's obviously got a lot attention since 2014 for its economy+skins.

I've enjoyed it for many reasons over the years. There was always people to play with on it. The casual and competitively sides were fun both on LAN and online, the economy is interesting and the skins add some level of player expression. The teamwork can be really deep if you find the right people. There's a lot of different skills involved if you take a look under the hood.

It can get a bit boring I find, but the operations and majors bring me back. Pretty turned off by the sheer number of toxic teammates you have to wade through though, and the 13% VAC rate.

Personally I prefer the operation and mod maps, alongside maps like vertigo.
All of the main maps tend to feel a bit bland from competitive polish. I always prefered the outlandish maps that do things which may be dumb and janky, but are dumb fun.

Nowadays I only enjoy CS:GO with my friends. Especially some of those adventure maps or whatever they're called. I like those. Otherwise it feels like a chore to me.

Use to play a bit with Nexus before I got bored of the game again, but I did clip some dumb moments.
