In no particular, chronological order - but roughly categorized, I guess.
Half of these aren't even funny when they don't have the captions they had in their original posts. Oh well, I can still provide some commentary.

After looking over one, "introspective" WW3RP thread, I noticed one particular outlier. Ohey, you can even see my post in that thread, with the img link broken. Nice.

No idea when I made this besides it being pre-Helix.

Nabbed the head on the right from some WW3RP thread, I can't remember which. Screenshot thread, mayhaps? Who knows.

Something I made courtesy of Hoovie's one, questionably /ss/ (no not the schutzstaffel) drawing.
YcTgYXF.png

Made in response to someone's post about UIL sending e-mail to Xen, I think.
QWY4mvd.png

Mostly made just because I was dicking around with models from the 1187 mod. Through all its brokenness, I still had a blast simply because it was a based in the late Portal Storms era, right before the Seven Hour War. (Spoilers for the ending) Fun fact, if you're quick, you can actually shoot down the Combine gunship that flies towards you, before the screen fades to black and credits roll.

Just a visual glitch that occasionally happened in the City 8 map that I turned into a meme. Something to do with this portion of the map being loaded properly only when the doors are closed beforehand.

A temptation, seeing one of these strung up on a wall. I wonder if any minges actually went for it.

This one was made after a rebel event to capture a Union freighter. Inside there was an Alien Controller that, well, controlled the rest of the ship crew. Technically an event character played by yours truly, but I was there just to stand still while admin fellas did /event stuff describing what the ayylien did. At the end, it escaped and flew off somewhere (physgunned, fun fact).
G0naNnM.png

Another 'quick meme', not much to comment about.
EEroxfi.png

A visual glitch from the olden ages of City 24 (I swear to god if any of you start to get nostalgic I'll whoop you) turned into a meme.
xVLoMaP.jpg

No clue when I made this, took someone else's screenshot and added text for a visual gag I guess.
m99BHjz.png

This one's an "exclusive" meme, because I made it ages ago, but never took the effort to post it. Everything else here has been posted in some thread before, but not this one.
Ka69UwK.png

My brains connect the dots between the most barely-related images way too often. I distinctly remember having a bad time finding a good power-up pic of Goku, too.
ZcCKbfJ.png

Ah, this is an old one. Made during the brief spurt of Garfield memes, if I recall correctly.

When tensions were already building up between the conscripts of different Slavbard camps... before the Borealis event had even begun. Sgt. Williams was the conscript in charge of Newlands, btw.
Tc22fKR.png

Spent a lot of time trying to make this look as 1:1 to the original as possible. I think the caption for this was smth like "when the OTA start aiming their guns at you", but I'm not 100% sure.
33oHVBw.png

A simple, "quick" meme.
79NB8HI.png

Made in the style of the Vault Boy "excuse me what the fuck" meme.
L6Yn44e.png

And this one in the style of "godzilla with shades saying that wasn't very cash money of you" meme. Do I even need to explain this, or am I just trying too hard to fill up some context for each picture?
DuuYZZK.png

Made from a personal screenie from the day Canaan got inaugurated.
SGyUnqd.png
These either took a lot of effort to make, or I just liked making them a lot.

The OG meme, probably one of my first - and the best.

AW6lMay.jpg

Technically low-effort, but the joke is so fucking stupid that it loops back around to being hilarious.
4rakd0m.png

Fun fact: I was lowkey planning on making a lot more of these, under the premise of "Gordon makes his debut in City 17, but it's during the Red Letter Day event of neb's last days on Clockwork framework". However, since that whole Dyson Sphere thing happened, any ideas - and motivation, frankly - turned into mist.
HBGphow.png

Another meme made during the Red Letter Day event. I actually have a bit of footage of the "fetus deletus" phenomenon, I should upload it to YouTube someday.
iviiGgL.png

Ah, Bao Guanting. My Senator with a relatively-brief tenure, mostly spent in City 8. Kinda regretting I didn't complete some of the things I had in mind for her.
wJ1uXH0.png

Made during the waking days of Pyongyang conflict, this was a silly one to make. Who doesn't love a bit of 'Namposting? The speech mentioned in the first panel was this one. Probably the biggest effect I've had lorewise.
tNcpY2y.png

And who could forget Sergeant Connor Williams. He was a weird character, frankly; I had a bunch of unpublished headcanon/backstory for him (a lot of it teetering on "uhh, this kinda sounds transhuman-y, shouldn't this get auths?") and he was taken away from us before any of it would become more apparent. Oh well, at least his death got a lot of fanfare and recognition. Still surprised how many people cared, honestly.
0hiJYVQ.jpg
Some of these are inherently memey, but still have genuine, creative effort behind them.
That being said, let's get the worst one out of the way.

Pretty simple, and honestly a bland thing I made to apply for the connies in Borealis event. I even forgot to wipe off the signature font from beneath the one I tried to write 'by hand', like the dumbfuck I am. Don't worry, it only gets better from here... I hope.
BHZcWf9.jpg

The amount of time I spent cross-referencing actual VOGUE covers to make this is ridiculous. You can see that the synth itself is looking a little unusually pale there. That's a result of me trying to do the "turn color value into transparency value" greenscreen trick in GIMP and failing miserably - and not realizing I could just set the background gray in-game. I was even using the gm_construct's colorable room, for crying out loud.
1uWbe1k.png

As inspired by an actual boxing poster, I made this. Since this seems like a common format for olde-styled boxing posters, I might make more. Good thing I still have original .xcf file, meaning I have all the layers with their effects and textboxes modifiable.
nD5ChJ0.png

Some kind of radical transhumanist poster that I made fairly recently.
HEubhpP.png
Hah, I'll have to gather a lot more effort to work on this one as well.
Feel like I forgot something? Just ask, and I'll see if I have it saved somewhere on my computer - and if I can be bothered to upload it as well.

How come you aren't already on the media team with a resume like this?

I work off of spontaneous, "impulsive" bursts of creativity. Something that just pops into my head, and I decide to go with it. Quality is not guaranteed (as you can see with most of these being low-effort memes), and I definitely have some ideas that I can't figure out how I could visualize for the life of me.

Well then, another day, another attempt at art.

Borealis.png

A lot of you probably have an inkling of what's going on: awoken advisors looking at hologram footage from Svalbard, where Borealis sent the entirety (or most of it? Can't remember which) of Echo Fleet crashing down from the sky.
This was quite the mixture of fun and tedious to make. Remember when I said this?
I definitely have some ideas that I can't figure out how I could visualize for the life of me.
Well, this is one of those ideas. I was thinking for a while about making some sort of "advisors congregating" scene, but I couldn't flesh it out reasonably. But now, well, I figured it out.
To run it through in a rough, chronological order?
  • In-game
  1. The Advisor models are from a separate addon, because by default the HL2 model of Advisor overrides the model from Episode 2. Plus, it had no collision models, so no ragdolls. The ones I got from the addon were pretty nice, arms were a bit annoying to pose, but nothing impossible.
  2. Using the mini_borealis model, I came to realize two things.
    1. The model itself is fucking enormous. However, using Collision Resizer, I got it squeezed down to an acceptable level.
    2. The model was quite... lacking, to put it mildly. I had to do a lotta things to compensate: angling the prop, retexturing the rear (aka copypasting some of the actually-textured front over its .vtf file), and post-process thingies - those I'll explain in the GIMP section.
  3. The aircraft models are, well, the ones used for Echo Fleet back in Borealis event; Hunter-Killers seen in Terminator series. Had to do a material override on 'em, as to give a more hologram-ish appearance (dark materials can't be recolored easily via Color Tool)
  4. Lots of lights and lamps (separate things, one puts off light everywhere, and the other in a constrained FOV) which I turned invisible by dropping the opacity value to zero via Color Tool.
  5. The hologram viewer in the Michelin Man's hand is a teeeensy tiny, resized version of the Weapon Confiscation model (the one that vaporizes your stuff during the Citadel run of HL2 and supercharges your Gravity Gun).
  • GIMP (Hoo boy, this is where the fun begins)
  1. Layers.
    • ALL OF THEM.
  2. Using the "Spark" brush on the Paintbrush tool, I make lots of tiny, glowy figures with each swipe and tapping of Mouse1. Then, using Motion Blur filter, I angle them in so that it looks like fire swerving from a downward fall. Honestly? Completely experimental, and I probs could've had a better results by getting and editing flame images off of Google.
  3. Copypasting each aircraft hologram in a different layer, then using Motion Blur tool on them for, well.. same thing as above - mimicking the blurriness of falling down. I did use a Blur brushing thing as well, for added effect.
  4. Tons of different post-processing things on the Borealis itself:
    1. Duplicating it into a new layer, motion blur, regular blur, everything. Lots of it at the bottom to compensate for the lack of, well, bottom on the actual model.
  5. Rounding out the hologram displayer (since the original model was hella rectangular), just some simple Cloning stuff (aka replicating the oatmeal armor around it to get the edge off of the thing).
  6. Some glowiness to the hologram displayer's core, and some edges and slight overlay to make all the holograms seem like parts of a whole display
  7. Last but not least, filling out the shadow beneath marshmallow man's feet; in-game, he shadow is so disjointed, because it cuts off on the glass platform. Pretty simple stuff, just using a semi-transparent Brush tool to fill out the remainder of the elliptical shape of his shadow.

Ohey, I made something new.
Untitled.jpg

As inspired by this song:

Much simpler project than the last one.Toughest part was the minute adjustments to each soldier's pose (and replicating how the guys in the song were posing like), and dealing with overlapping shadows (thanks, Gmod) by cloning away those shading inconsistencies. Probably should've used Stormfox to make the sun lower so the shadow length matches the original, but eh.

Oh, right, I never actually posted sauces on this stuff when I memed about these in the screenshot thread, like, forever ago.
Therapist: Helix HL2RP on Gmod main menu isn't real, it can't hurt you.
Helix HL2RP on Gmod main menu:

Needed an excuse to post some GarrysMod/garrysmod/gamemode dickery I did tonight
In case you wanna spice up your main menu a little for the Helix HL2RP gamemode, here's the images used.

You need to drop them into GarrysMod/garrysmod/gamemodes/ixhl2rp directory with these exact filenames. If you don't have the ixhl2rp directory, then... I don't actually know, make a folder for it perhaps? I'm not entirely sure if the directory exists unless you specifically DL the files related to Helix and its HL2RP iteration.

Oh and have a gamemode icon for Helix itself. Technically base Helix and HL2RP version are different gamemodes in Gmod, because there's gamemodes/ixhl2rp and gamemodes/helix directories separately for on another. Can't see it when I boot up Gmod either, so this might be a moot img, but whatever.
Also icon24.png

You could also apparenlty set up background images for main menu for each gamemode according to this guide, but I'm just here to share what I made in my spare time.
