A broke university student is on the horizon so it really doesn’t sound like all that bad of a deal. All I have to do for national guard is just sit at a few bases for 6 hours a day and possibly shove away a few teenagers who want to be hezbollah wannabes. That’s literally what was described to me from a few people I know who are in that branch. Possibly a few drug busts from speed boats coming here with hash but that’s it. I don’t get deployed abroad to like yemen or anything.

If you don't like being bossed around, REALLY physical work and people who are tired of their job don't go in. You'll be miserable for the entire duration of your stay and people won't enjoy your company because of it.

NCOs and COs being bored/upset at their miserable lives which means they'll find stupid or boring shit for you to do so they feel better. Either that or you get smoked for tiny fucking things that don't matter
don't forget all the alcohol, drugs, thots, obnoxious assholes you have to put up with for 24 hours straight , possibly someone getting launched out of the 2nd story window into the bushes. the dumb shit that happens for the first few months for dweebs straight out of boot that you put up with when working barracks duty.
