Well one cannot know it all. Yet I believe it has to do with (if I'm wrong, do inform me) technological advances, the usage of new semi-conducting materials that allow us to apply more voltage directly into our devices, rather than expelling it into heat. OF course, heat is always a problem, but the more advances that are being made in technology, the better our batteries and the better our chargers.
