You could have said you don't think it's fair and you think it's wrong etc, but when you start with 'lying bastard' and that sort of stuff, it just feels like you're looking for conflict
I just want to come on the forums and not be inundated by this drama, day in and day out, of selective and unwarranted criticism and jabbing at every corner. When did we go from 'lets play games' to 'if you disagree with me you're hitler'
If you came to him directly, I'm sure he would have given you a better answer. But ultimately, it is his community and SOMEONE has to make a final call after all opinions are taken into account. Do you think I agree with everything that happens? Of course not.
To me, eridian should've been permabanned. Pumpkin should have been removed from headcop. Brano should have been removed from staff. Doubled should have been removed way sooner. Jaf should remain banned longer. I voice my disagreements to people who make decisions, respectfully
I think it also kinda boils down to whether or not people like BQ or Gazra have given folks any reason to assume they'd go to such lengths to oust one single player. Also fuck I woke up to 60+ alerts send help
but recognize that ultimately it isn't my decision and I'm not the one running things and as such have to accept that not everytime it'll go how I want, without starting a riot cause of it or flooding threads with shit...
Old members also begin to leave due to the behaviour exhibited by a lot of people. I stopped playing ww3rp because people were memeing about, ruining my experience and sometimes doing weird sexual soliciting shit.
I accept things don’t always go my way, and I’ve stayed st nebulous long enough to help where I could and do what I can to help the community but there’s only so much people will put up with, that’s why Dallas and I ultimately left
I stopped playing hl2rp for a good while because people were constantly harassing me/my friends over doing roleplay they didn't like, having opinions they didn't like, etc...
Neb doesn't have the best community but frankly neither did Lemonpunch. Kinda comes with the Gmod territory I think unfortunately. Which sucks, cause I've met a lot of great people here.
You're right, there's only so much people put up with - that's the exact point. The sudden animosity that we've seen between different groups of the community is because they're fed up, from both sides, I suppose. And while you're actually not that big of a culprit of this anymore (I say this genuinely) the kids who idolise and want to be like you and imitate you are.
I’ve never tried to get anyone to act that way, but there’s a lot of idols in this community, including yourself.
New members join and see this is how we act, so they copy.
My gripe with this stems over to the staff team, where a few bad apples are ruining the whole batch and now new operators are following them as they believe this is the right way to conduct
I think my 'idol' status died 5 years ago, I haven't been in a power position for anything since WW3RP, and that was purely out of necessity and scarcity of people to do the job. I'm not even staff right now, haven't had a faction leading position ever in hl2 or a special whitelist/character. I'm even self aware about it(1)
because I know that if that ever happened because I do talk to headstaff all the time and I'm generally a controversial person, they would get shit for it. I know that me being anywhere relevant is just hassle for others so I don't even try to.
As for the bad apples ruining the whole batch, there are bad apples everywhere, but I genuinely believe most people have good intentions. It really, in many cases, boils down to maturity, which happens to be very linked to age.
Regardless, we've extended this a lot, if you want to discuss it with me, you can find me on TS anytime, and for those who'll say "why don't you want it in public where all can see!!" we can record the conversation and post it, idc. Just tired...
