049 was re-written last year (i think?) to be more up to par in writing quality consistent with future generations of scps

i know it isn't the only scp that's gotten that treatment, some have also been rewritten for other reasons

i just read it, haven't they changed a fair bit? i swear before he was all about performing 'surgery' on people to remove a non-existent infection, and now he is on abt some sort of pestilence making him want to kill people???

I miss the old SCP stuff back in like 2011 and slightly past it the new stuff is just dumb, have a look at scp 2721 for example

he's still trying to cure people of some unknown disease, but there's actually been added some character to the... well, character, instead of just being wild wacky doctor man. it has also been grounded more in reality as far as i can remember, considering how the old one had some wacky stuff

yeah some SCPs are really dumb (including the old stuff, by the way) but i gotta say i prefer newer gen stuff considering how it's usually much higher quality and tends to be very creative with what it pumps out

im one of the only scp writers who will defend old 049/old scps to the last goddamn breath fuck this rewrite shit dog having the old trashy stuff lets you see how the way stuff is written has evolved

i much prefer the rewritten one as an article but preserving site history is important

i like the creativity but i feel like in some it is taken a bit too far to the point where it's a lil silly. the point of it is for it to be as believable and as 'realistic' (used loosely) as possible, something you can actually visualise happening. also

SCP 504 is still by far the best

Old 049 was alright when you realized that the disease was humanity/empathy and that's why he didn't go after foundation workers
Still not the best but certainly a neat relic, and his scene in CB is the best part of that game thanks to the VA
just wish they didn't change site history and then also shoehorn in references to a youtuber/their ebuddy

also i was giving the scp unity version a go and the amount of like stupid youtuber references n shit make it soo annoying
i was hoping they'd stick to scp:cb's style of making it heavily close to the scp universe, but in the unity shit the anomalous ducks have shit like 'duckiplier' and all the documents have all random shitty references
