yeah, m3lon and I just saw people screaming and our chat was getting filled as we were close and that help request came in so we acted accordingly from what we saw as it looked cut and dry to us.
I can say from experience as SD that you don't always have the time to sit and investigate everything on-the-spot, especially digging through logs and hopping out of game, etc. Most of what you see is at face-value and bans come accordingly, its easier to suss out in appeals for "Obvious" seeming stuff like that.
Also sure, not being able to investigate on the spot I understand. What I don’t undetstand though is immediately upping the ban past the one already administered which gives you time to investigate, is all
Glad it all got sorted though in the end, so no worries guys. I know how this sort of thing can look but when you are getting spammed with !Helps and suddenly get "group of people punching me" and you fly into that sort of situation, you tend to have to make a snap call and move on.
Mostly cause it looked like a second offence after a recent ban, @milS, so the ban got upped further as a result. Again, understandable call but in this case not the right one.
Going through the logs, I said that Frosty has been banned before so that's why his was upped and when we saw 4 or so people circle around a Vort screaming and saying what they did, we banned them as they were just Bluesuits, no one said anything till after.
Suppose so, honestly still just looks a bit dense to me and think staff should really focus more on atleast some log checking instead of impulsive ban upping in the future. But it’s sorted anyway, I guess
What Tzula meant is, most characters made to fuck around in groups are obviously bluesuits. If you see "I'm being mingepunched", fly over and see a bunch of bluesuits yelling and running around and what have you its an easy assumption.
I mean I don’t really see the logic in that. As @mert can confirm most of our characters are blue suits just because we don’t want to spend tokens on clothes, but that doesn’t mean we’re minges. Bluesuit stereotype is getting old tbf
Seeing a !help like that and seeing four people sprinting around a vort screaming with their fists raised certainly gives that impression tbf. As I've said, most minges /are/ bluesuits so its an unfortunate case of association.
Might give an impression that they’re there to fuck about, maybe by the actions alone. Factoring bluesuit or not into someone’s “serious level””” though is quite dumb
It is, but its something you've unfortunately learned over several years (sometimes) of staffing. Its a difficult habit to break, especially given most minges/people fucking around do so on (obviously) bluesuit characters. There's no inherent stigma against bluesuits, its just an association of the behaviour when they flew in.
Honestly I think there’s still this mentality that bluesuit = minge. I mean look back on BAF, all of us were blue suits since day 1 except my char who just got bodygroups. If we were all instantly put off as minges then y’know. Bluesuit stereotype should’ve fucked off with helix
Nah I was more saying if I'd have flown in and seen people running around like madmen while the chat was being spammed I'd make the association too. Either way though its sorted now, which is good.
Like we ran up to vort and asked if they'd seen two black guys, we saw one of the guys which was shibe and he minge ran off and we chased him and shibe minge punched the vort. It's literally that simple
The admins came in after too considering i went up to the vort and asked if they got minge punched and my mate told brano he was minge running from us. Like the staff were in the wrong this time rabid
