The cramped quarters and compartments of the tiny drop-pod contained an even number of red-robed humanoids. All relatively tall, their large but thin hoods covering their metallic and augmented faces. Their clothing similar to that of a religious monk's, crimson red with white detailing along their coats.

There were four slots in the drop-pod, all allowing barely enough space for a human to fit in. The walls were covered with various buttons and controls, internal radio-equipment and lights indicating the status of the pod. The internal part of the pod was much like a square, with one of the robed men in every individual compartment. The empty space in the middle of the metallic and cramped structure was filled by a rather crude weapon-rack, with four Galvanic Rifles around it. Large rifles with what would be seemingly a wooden frame and a revolver-like magazine. Decorated with golden details, the aesthetics of this rifle would seem rather antique. Every rifle faced one of the robed men, allowing for them to quickly arm themselves when the time come.

Although faint breathing could be heard, none of the men had any movement to accompany said breathing. They were static, as if they were a part of the structure, molded into the electronics. Their faces covered in what would seem like some sort of gas-mask, with the eyes of their masks glowing a warm dark-blue. Their bodies completely covered in metallic armour and cybernetics. They were Skitarii Rangers, the fighting force of the Adeptus Mechanicus. The silent killers of the Imperium. The pod began moving, as it began to thrust itself towards it's target, the pod began shaking, the sound of intense rattling and various electronics in the pod moving made it sound as if the drop-pod was going to fall apart any minute now. Yet the Skitarii did not flinch, they did not even move an inch. Any normal human would've been terrified by now, but these were no humans.

"Fear the iron fist, for its grip is death."

The sound of the powerful lascannons mounted on the drop-pod cutting through the ships exterior was all that could be heard for a solid ten or so seconds, as the pod began crushing itself into the interiors of the massive heretic ship. The inside of the pod was shaking sporatically, yet the Skitarii were barely affected. The pod finally slammed down deep in the insides of the ship, having reached it's destination. This was no random drop-pod destination, it had been carefully calculated. As the pod slammed down in the interior of the ship, the insides of the pod filled with smoke, and the Skitarii only needed a few seconds to recover from the landing. The sound of air being uncompressed was almost deafening as the large doors of the pods opened. The pods were in fact designed so that the walls of it opened up, allowing the individuals inside to quickly exit it. The Skitarii robotically took their rifles in hand, and took a step out of their pods.

The ship they were on had previously been an Imperium ship, and as all ships were produced by the Adeptus Mechanicus, the layout of this large monolithic ship was not unfamiliar. Yet despite this, due to it's astronomical size, it would be easy to get lost in it's long stretching corridors and various compartments. Most Imperial ships were so massive that they would require hundreds of thousands of crewmen to properly operate. This ship had fallen in heretical hands though, as it had recently defected. The Adeptus Mechanicus had found out that vital knowledge had been stored in the data-plates of this specific ship just before their defection. These data-plates were crucial, and as such had to be retrieved as soon as possible.

Smoke had filled the compartment of the ship that the pod had landed in. The Rangers began walking out, quickly examining the surroundings. Symbolism that had previously been Mechanicum or Imperial had been destroyed and defaced. The various Imperial Eages on the walls of this large, room had been made a mockery out of through heretical and vile Chaos Runes. Any normal man would've quickly gone mad as Chaos tainted every room and every corridor. Heretical runes and scriptures made in what seemed like crude raid paint covered every wall. The Skitarii were unphased. They were not there to cleanse the heretics. They were not there to reclaim the ship. They were there for the data-plates.

The Skitarii restlessly advanced forward, making their way through the tight corridors of the ship, the ship was clearly not maintaned properly, most of the lights and doors were not working properly and various compartments such as previous storage areas had been destroyed and vandalized. The Skitarii did not speak to eachother, they were completely silent. Not uttering a single word. Not because they didn't want to, but because they could perfectly communicate with eachother through binary, their augments allowing them to quickly relay information without requiring to communicate through speech or radio.

Due to the unmaintained nature of the ship, it was quite dark and moody. The weak lights of the equipment the Skitarii had being the only real light sources as they advanced through abandoned and wrecked corridors. The little light they had would highlight the ridiculous amount of dust and particles in the air. Despite the ship just recently defecting, it had already became such a state. Further proving the point of the vile heresy that is Chaos.

The Skitarii made themselves into one of the main compartments, a rather large room with many control stations and various other stations that powered the ship. Obviously all abandoned, it was a miracle how the ship could still fly without breaking down. The Skitarii slowly made their way through this large compartment. The height of the room was truly massive. Looking similar to a cathedral, the ceiling was several hundreds metres up, truly showcasing the absolute massive size of the ship.

The room had been dark, very dark. But, quite suddenly - the sound of lasguns now began to echo throughout the large cathedral-like room. The bright red lights that the lasguns are famous of were lighting up the room as if it was some kind of neon light-show. The Skitarii immediately ducked to cover, returning fire on the ambushers. Their Galvanic Rifles crackling as they let out devestating electrical charges back towards their attackers. One Skitarii whom had not opened fire yet, had taken cover behind some control panels. Quickly, he took aim at one of his attackers. His augments allowing him to quite easily spot them and to calculate their distance. The crimson red robed Skitarii pulled down on the trigger of his rifle in an almost robotic manner. Two shots were fired towards the heretic. The first shot hit the railing next to the heretic, making the metal burst in flames and crackle in blue light - while the second shot hit him dead on. What followed was a powerful blast, and then a strong electric shock, the heretic seemingly experiencing what looked like a seizure, what ensued is that the entry-wound began to erupt in flames - before fully electrocuting the man. Killing him nearly instantly.

The attack was not over, it seemed there was a small group of heretics opening fire from several directions, including the various railings from above. The Skitarii were all pinned behind cover, one of them quickly unclipping a grenade from their belt, throwing it straight towards the source of the lasgun fire. His throw was powerful, and was a sign of the Skitarii's robot-like nature. The grenade flew through the air and plummeted to the ground, bouncing a few times before finally exploding - letting out a surge of bio-electricity. The heretics caught in the blast instantly receiving heavy neural trauma - falling to the ground. To an outsider it would seem as if they had passed out, but their minds had been scrambled and they had received a swift death.

A few quick and extremely-accurate electric shots later, the heretics had all fallen. One by one, collapsing to the ground through extreme electrocution or through devestating grenades. Practically instantly after the Rangers had eliminated the threats, they immediately got out of cover and began their restless advance through the ship. Their metallic augments and armour making them sound menacing as they move through the ship. Their armoured feet slamming down on the hard steel floor, the sound of them walking echoing throughout the room and nearby compartments. The Skitarii were here for a reason - and they were not going to stop.

When a Skitarii Ranger has a target, they march restlessly. Even if their target gets away, they will continue to march towards their target despite this. Their relentless assault never stopping. Most Skitarii Rangers have the capability to march for decades.

After what seemed like several hours of marching through the abandoned halls of this decadent ship, they had finally reached their destination. A large tech-vault, most likely containing the data-plates they were there for. The vault door had been vandalized, but due to the tech-vault's design, it can only be opened by the Adeptus Mechanicus. One of the Rangers stepped forwards and his dark-blue eye stared straight into one of the locks of the vault. Air began uncompressing and the various locks of the vault began unlocking themselves. Making quite a lot of noise. As the vault began unlocking, the echoes of heretic screams could be heard throughout the various corridors connecting to the vault-door where the Rangers were. They prepared their weaponry on the various corridors.

The screeches of heretic cultists began to fill the room as they charged down the corridors. The Skitarii's Galvanic Rifles began crackling once more as they let out shots after shots down the corridors. The cultists began falling, and the ones behind them tripped on their corpses - yet they continued their relentless charge. Then, as the storm seemed to calm -

A large, extremely tall, well armored Chaos Space Marine charged past any cultists still standing, crushing them just through the sheer force of him running. The Rangers let out a volley of galvanic fire, but to no avail. Their electric bullets simply plinking off the Space Marine's armour. He had a chainsword in one hand, a brutal combination of a chainsaw and a sword, and in the other a common bolt pistol. His bolter had been covered in what seemed like Chaotic taint, some kind of fleshy material. This fleshy material had also covered his armour, truly showing his vile and heretical nature. The Chaos Space Marine charged straight through the corridor and smashed through one of the rangers, their body covered in blood as the large bulky armour of the heretic hit them in combination with the extreme force of the heretic running, the force was so powerful that it practically killed the ranger instantly. Then the heretic's arm flung towards another direction, his chainsaw brutally cutting through another ranger. Blood flying out of the wound as the Chaos Space Marine continued to viscously cut through the entirety of the ranger's body, practically cutting him in half.

Another ranger quickly pulled out an Arc Pistol from his belt, a powerful rapid fire pistol. He held down the trigger and several lightning charges went flying towards the heretic. The pistol was discharging energy with a loud crack, the room was lit up through the blue-electricity rapid firing straight into the heretic. Soon, the bulky and massive heretic fell to the ground, his brain had been completely fried by the Arc Weaponry. His body fell to the ground with a very loud thump as his armour hit the steel floor. And then, there was silence once more.

The planet of Karvala B.33 was massive, with the majority of it being dense jungle - combined with extremely large and vast manofactorums that had previously been maintained by the Adeptus Mechanicus. What had once been the equivalent of massive cities of factories polluting the planet had now become barren, vandalized, worn out and destroyed. The walls of the various factories, workshops and warehouses had been desecrated by not only the taint of Chaos but from hundreds of years of fighting. Karvala B.33 was once a peaceful world, colonized by the Imperium in it's early days, yet eventually it was plagued by multiple heresies and cults, the Inquisition tried their best in containing these cults yet they were eventually too many. Exterminatus was considered but the planet was deemed too valuable to destroy. What followed was centuries of war. The cults grew in size and Chaos began spreading throughout the planet. At one point, even the Adeptus Astartes themselves had been called on by the Inquisition, to finally spearhead an attack to end the heresy in Karvala.

In the midst of the brutal war for Karvala, a Tau Merchant Fleet discovered the planet. The Tau saw the planet as their saving grace, as they had been raided and attacked by numerous pirates. Yet what seemed to them as the light in the dark - turned out to be the darkest and deepest of shadows enveloping them. They quickly found out about the war in Karvala, or rather, the war found them. After making the risky move to land their fleet on the planet's surface, the Tau began setting up camp, effectively colonizing the planet. The Tau were quick to set up defenses, numerous builder-drones putting together makeshift defenses - sentry turrets, walls, emplacements and barricades. Living spaces were quickly materialized by these highly advanced drones. Immediately, the Tau had been spotted by a group of cultists - who were not hesistant to begin ruthlessly attacking the xeno encampment. Inaccurate bright red lasgun fire being expunged from their puny laspistols as they screeched in what seemed like joy, pleasure and terror at the same time. Their minds completely blank due to the Chaos influence.

It was clear the planet that these desperate Tau had settled on was no peaceful one. This was no fight for the Tau Empire's ambitions, or for the Greater Good. Rather, it was a fight for this fleet's survival. For the survival of every individual crew-member and the hundreds of Fire Warriors, Kroot and Battlesuits that the transport ships had been carrying. The cultists were not of worry, but the fact that the enveloping hand of Chaos was present, and as such most likely the Imperium, was of utmost worry.

More 40k stuff I've written for a campaign me and the lads are playing using the tabletop.

KARVALA B.33
STATUS: CONFLICT
PRIMARY SECTOR PLANET

What had previously been flat wasteland on the eastern fringes of the planet after hundreds of years of fighting, had now been turned into a glorious Tau stronghold. The Tau had created a sustainable fortress in but a few years, and has become yet another threat on Karvala, a planet plagued by constant conflict between the Imperium and Chaos. Coincidentally, the Black Templars and their White Crusade has now begun throughout the sector. The primary fleet of the White Crusade chapter having arrived in the sector, along with numerous cruisers under the Ecclesiarchy carrying regiments of zealous Adepta Sororitas, now poses a new - very dangerous threat to the Tau forces on Karvala. As such, the Tau quickly intercepted the Ecclesiarchy's forces shortly after they disembarked their Imperial ships on the northern fringes of the planet. -

They fought in the snow, blue plasma fire against thundering bolter-fire. The zealous Adepta Sororitas charged fervently into battle, as the Tau firing line simply stood there and laid down a constant stream of plasma fire on the advancing sisters. Saint Celestine herself had appeared in the midst of the battle, but as she charged into the xenos - she was quickly cut down by the stream of plasma fire from the Tau's battlesuits, her holy body being dragged off as the battle raged on. In the north, the secondary Tau detachment brought up its powerful riptide, it's high-tech weaponry letting out barrage after barrage of powerful plasma fire while fire-warriors moved up further north. The Ecclessiarchy made it's primary push in the east and straight down the frontline of the Tau fireline, with flamers spouting molten fury of the Emperor upon the Tau, while heavy bolters supported them from the back. Large artillery resembling church-organs fired down upon the Tau battlesuits, providing further fire support as the various rhino and immolator tanks charged forward. In but a few quick engagements, large amounts of the Adepta Sororitas had been cut down, the Tau using their burst-cannons to quickly shred through the sisters' infantry, while using their broadsides to cripple the armoured phalanx. The small skirmish ended in a costly yet decisive Tau victory. Letting them push closer towards the primary detachments of the White Crusade.

KARVALA B.21
STATUS: INFESTED
SECONDARY SECTOR PLANET
MAJOR XENO LIFEFORMS SPOTTED
DISPATCHING DEATHWATCH

:: MAY THE EMPEROR'S LIGHT PROTECT YOU ::

Karvala B.21, another planet in the large Karvala sector. B.21 is dotted with several Imperial cities and factories, having been a recent addition to the Imperium after the Black Templars first found it, many structures from pre-Imperium still remain. Most of these structures are medieval like, which is in stark contrast to the large imperial cathedrals and buildings that have been constructed. B.21 has large Imperial cities seperated by big seemingly endless plains and hills. Although, peace is never eternal - Karvala B.21 faces a new threat, one that threatens the entire sector. A Behemoth Hive Fleet has been reportedly moving through, or close to the Karvala sector. This hive fleet threatens the entire sector, and must be quelled. Tyranid lifeforms have been reported on Karvala B.21. Fearing yet another conflict sparking up in the Karvala sector, the Inquisition themselves have dispatched several kill teams of Deathwatch. For such a small report, this is considered overkill. But it is clear that any Tyranid hive MUST be quelled at all costs.
