They're supposed to be an anti-counterfeit measure or something, aren't they?

We've got a similar thing down under. New $5 AUD note got released, very different design compared to the old one.

Keep in mind, that bit down the middle is transparent, and all our other notes don't follow that style at all.

we've still yet to update our £10's and £20's.

Huh, odd. No clue if we have any plans to expand this design change to some of our other notes. I don't see the point but then again I know little about the topic.
