Previous experience with Vortigaunt factions:
Speckled across various old servers, mainly playing as a freed vortigaunt, though I have experience in the enslaved role also.

Vul'Astul
What kind of character do you plan on portraying? How do their traits distinguish them from the rest of their species?:


I wish to have the character of Vul'Astul taken as a isolationist type within the world. This isn't to say that they aren't willing to be helpful or even empathetic in their action, it's more simple to see it as 'looking out for number one' in this scenario. Given this, I will be portraying a nomadic natured character with Vul'Astul.

Despite this isolationist attitude adopted due to events in their life, Vul'Astul is actually a rather jovial individual, even going as far as to be optimistic for the future of himself and his species.

Brief Backstory:


Vul'Astul was born into a small cluster of his kind deep within the mountains outside of the watchful eye of the combine during their occupation. Through the teachings of his cluster's experiences, he grew with the knowledge that isolation and self-reliance were some of the key qualities required to survive in this new world. During his growth and training within this harsh mountain environment, Vul found himself to become enamoured with what lies beyond the steep paths he treaded each and every day, yearning more and more for exploration of unknown habitats and entities which were alien to his sight. He'd seen the visions, they all had, supplied to them by that key link that their kind held, but it only fed that curiosity that was lingering all too long.

After much discouragement and warning of the dangers that entailed should he choose to undertake such actions, Vul'Astul made that difficult decision to separate himself from the clan that harboured his way of living, striking out on his own across the plains of this Earth that had become much more than what that name first entailed. Over the years he lived as a nomad, travelling far and wide, encountering many different creatures and cultures which he quickly left in his wake. Many of his own kinds clusters that he passed through called him 'lost' to be carrying on in such a reckless manner, this however fuelled his need to keep moving in any direction.

While the thought of the towering steel structures which the Combine had constructed during their occupation made his skin crawl, these were the locations that he found to be the most enticing to venture into. It couldn't be placed what was tempting however; greed? danger? a unresolved need to aid others? Whatever it was, whenever he found himself in his travels passing by one of these cities, he couldn't help but venture within and observe what was occurring.

What kind of group(s) are you planning to work with (if any)?:
Vul will mainly be acting alone in actions taken, however if required, he will gladly aid those against any which may seek to cut-short this precious life.

Vortal Snare
: The ability to place down a small, glowing orb on the ground, similar in appearance to that of a Vortessence Lantern. If a living entity comes into close proximity of this orb, the trap is triggered, it expanding into a wide sphere which isolates the ability to move for any entity caught within the range. While multiple snares can be placed, once triggered, the user's concentration must be kept on the entrapped entity otherwise the snare will collapse.

If a living entity comes into close proximity of this orb, the trap is triggered, it expanding into a wide sphere which isolates the ability to move for any entity caught within the range. While multiple snares can be placed, once triggered, the user's concentration must be kept on the entrapped entity otherwise the snare will collapse.

Granted. I like it. You may utilize this in S2RP scenarios.
