SO

I recently remembered I used to play on a serious F:NV Roleplay server a long time, it was quite popular and had all the "selling" features like that F:NV themed map with the OG locations like the Poseidon Energy Plant and so on, and the Fallout sNPC's.
It had Crafting, and some factions that you could join by pure IC tasks and an initiation kind of thing (Although not the Main ones) .
Anyways, the point is that is was very popular and very good, it wasn't a DarkRP trying to be a SRP server, I had as much good roleplay over there as I have here.
And basically I wanted to know if you think we could host a relatively small one, if it won't effect HL2RP and WW3RP too negatively playerbase-wise, and what you think will make a good F:NV RP server.

Thanks .

Its pretty much impossible to run a 'good' NV server that lasts any length of time, primarily due to faction bloat and (far more typical) things falling apart due to one or two factions getting into conflict and taking over the rest of the experience. This is usually what ends up happening to most StalkerRP servers too, between Duty and Freedom.

FalloutRP can only really work if you strip out the majority of the factions and find a way to introduce a natural dynamic that can keep the wheels turning.

Faction v faction never works outside of events unless you want a constant imbalance, OOC tantrums and weird alliances that don't make any sense. For longevity, do a city like New Reno and let everyone play a citizen. You could have casinos, jet empires, boxing places - all based on player initiative. Factions like the NCR should stick to events, something like a power balance or another one of their attempts to cover more land that's dealt with by players for a dynamic outcome.
