That's when you go home, and illegally download all DLC for the game to not give Paradox a singular fucking dime for their predatory DLC policies

whats eu4 like compared to hoi4/ck2?
eu4 is a numbers based renaissance conquest/colonization simulator

more numbers up == gooder

in terms of depth and learning curve it's a lot harsher than both hoi4 and ck2 but the core gameplay is a lot more of a rewarding experience than hoi4/ck2 if you enjoy the map painting aspects of both of those games

if you solely enjoy ck2 because it's a roleplay game then you probably wont enjoy eu4

I always thought it was very well know that paradox was horrible with that
it's not really an uncommon thing, simulator games have been doing it for decades and most of their community considers it perfectly acceptable. im pretty sure train simulator was the sole reason why steam made 'dlc pages' and took off the option to add all DLC to cart from store pages.

I won't ever be dropping money into games like that, had I even enjoyed them in the first place. I do think it's really funny that the EU4 starter pack is on sale on steam and still costs $90

yeah i wanted to get into stellaris

then i saw that to have fun you needed to have a billion DLC

then my computer toasted out trying to run it due to a bad graphics card

so that made my decision for me
