Character name: Gregory Steven
Describe your character's background & motives for enlisting in the National Guard:
Gregory Steven is a Romanian man in his early thirties. He was born and raised in Romania, and he lived a relatively normal life until the Combine invasion. When the Combine took over, Gregory's family was killed, and he was forced to flee the city he lived. Steven spent the next few years living in the Resistance, fighting against the Combine. He saw a lot of violence and death, but he also saw a lot of hope. He saw people from all walks of life coming together to fight for a better future.
Gregory wants to join the National Guard. He wants to help rebuild the country and protect the people he loves. He is a skilled soldier, and he is dedicated to his duty.
Gregory is not a perfect person - He has seen too much violence, and he has lost too many people. He, however, is a good person with a kind heart, and wants to make a difference. He believes that the National Guard is the best way to protect Liberated Bucharest, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the country safe.
Gregory is here to shape the fate of humanity, or at least try to...
Are you interested in a leadership position?: No, I am not interested in a leadership position. I am happy to follow orders and do my part to help the National Guard. I believe that the best leaders are those who are willing to listen to others and learn from their mistakes.

Character name: Walter T. Banks
Describe your character's background & motives for enlisting in the National Guard:
Out of work and having been the victim of two terrorist attacks by those against the Free State, a ready and willing Walter T. Banks sought out the chance to solidify the region under a single flag to bring about a degree of stability using his experience during the early uprising conflicts. The lack of clarity left in the wake of the Combine downfall has made him bitter and ready to take matters into his own hands. Especially against those who have nearly brought his life to an end twice.

"You can't best the devil twice. At least that's what they told me. If that's the case, I better get myself involved in an outfit and at least die with a gun in my hand and a flag at my back."

Are you interested in a leadership position?:
Sure, if you need any.

Character name: Stevan Knežević

Describe your character's background & motives for enlisting in the National Guard: Stevan is at heart a political street thug, the kind of man you might have found in the Black Shirts or Red Brigades. His joining of the Guard is hardly anything other than an institutionalised evolution of a life he had been living for a very long time.

Traumatised by war thrice over and having spent the first five or so years of the occupation moving from youth camp to youth camp, it was almost inevitable an unruly and socially stunted youth like him would fall into a life of urban crime when he was finally shat out onto the streets of an urban centre.

While mugging loyalists who took a wrong turn, black market deals and dodging CP patrols garnered him the attention of the growing anti-CMB revolutionary groups throughout his many transfer cities, his involvement in these organizations was never really about whatever ideology they exposed, what matters to Stevan is the prospect of struggle and survival in the face of overwhelming authority, rather than any care or love for how things once were.

Having never taken part in any serious anti-civil cells when his actions finally caught up to him, he was spared Amputation and instead transferred to Bucharest to live among the rest of the filth the state couldn't even be bothered to execute.

When Bloody Week came, Stevan was just one of a hundred rioters on the streets intent on dragging the loyalist clique down in a flurry of violence, his newfound loyalty to his adopted city has come through the benefits it has afforded him. Nominal authority in a Thiefdom that relies on you for protection has its perks and might always make a right in the fight against the Combine. Anything is justified and he now is keen to revel in his position with a vested interest in securing the security and expansion of Bucharest so that his lucrative position can be sustained.

Are you interested in a leadership position?: Definitely, I want to help rejuvenate the original concept of the N.G and make them a better antagonist for both the rebels and the Combine.

Character name: Michael Griggs
Describe your character's background & motives for enlisting in the National Guard:

Born on 12/20/1979

Age: 43

Michael's motives for joining the National Guard lie in his past. He was a USMC combat engineer commander, or as he was designated, a Sapper-08," deployed to Kosovo as part of Operation Joint Guardian. He was only 19 or so during this time and had some of his best days in the USMC. When the 7-hour war came, he was booked and made an official citizen of the combine empire; of course, he despised being called a 'citizen' of it. He still has a fire in his heart to serve his people much like he did in the Marine Corps.

Born in Kentucky, more specifically Louisville, he grew up as the youngest child of three; his parents were veterans themselves and worked average jobs. In high school, he took part in ROTC and played football. Skipping forward a little to graduation, he decided against college and went straight for service to take after his parents. He was made a combat engineer as he wished and went through. In 1999, he was deployed to Kosovo to help quell the violent protests, he luckily got out unscathed.

To a more interesting part of his life, he was shipped to C03 and arrived just as many others do, alone and without company or possessions. He did his work cycles and was a good citizen in the eyes of the empire, but things took an interesting turn when he was transferred to C44. The transport convoy he was on got ambushed by a group of rebels in the dead of night while driving along the roads. Bullets started flying and the CP drivers were shot dead, he didn't hesitate; he jumped out when he could and ran to a now liberated C45.

When he finally could take a breather, he wandered the streets alone looking for work, and spotted a lovely billboard that implored him to join the National Guard he thought to himself about the duty he had to the American people to protect them, why not protect these innocents too and what's one more rodeo for this cowboy?

Are you interested in a leadership position?: Definitely, I wrote this character with a leadership position in mind; it's not essential as that would be strange, but I'm definitely interested in one, if possible, something related to his previous experience as a combat engineer; if not, it's okay.

Blud is 52 years old and avoided transhumanisation for 20 years just to become a guard in Romania!

Character name: Jason Chang
Describe your character's background & motives for enlisting in the National Guard:

Starting as a petty criminal in the neon streets of City 8, Jason was always willing to do whatever it took to survive, even if it meant allying himself with the notoriously vicious and cruel Yakuza. Under their partnership, he scoured the dark ghettos like he owned the place, demanding the locals pay tribute and extorting those who refused. Jason was no stranger to crime, he grew up in the concrete jungle after all, but in fact, he thrived in it. With the Yakuza by his side, he ramped up his criminal activity, ranging from theft, narcotics, and extortion, eventually leading up to arms dealing. Jason felt like he was on top of the world, but he would soon realize that his luck was about to run out. Jason was fooled by an informant and got busted during and gun sale. He managed to escape the combine pursuit, but the combine was the least of his troubles right now the yazuka would do far worse if they got their hands on him.

Jason tried to escape the city through the outlands but was apprehended by civil protection. They arrested him and shipped him off to Istanbul where he was held in maximum security prison. Jason took some time to reflect on his life, on the things he's done, on the people he's hurt, he questioned whether or not it was worth it in the end, and how his life would have played out if he did things differently. Jason was convinced he was going to rot away in his jail cell, but the worst part was he thought he might deserve this outcome. Thankfully for Jason, this was not the end for him.

One day, Jason was woken up to the sounds of explosions, screaming and gunfire, it was like all hell just broke loose, but that was not his current concern. The door to his cell was opened, and it appears that the whole prison power has either been shut down or malfunctioned. Jason escaped the Prison and entered the streets where he got a first-hand glimpse of the conflict at hand, the Combine was locked into a power struggle between the rebel forces, each sharing the utmost desire to destroy one another, but were left largely contested in their skirmish. Jason escaped the warfare and wandered the outlands before being picked up by a rebel truck housing refugees such as himself. He was driven to the black sea and then transported to Bucharest, Romania via ship.

Now given a new chance at life, Jason decided to sign up for the National Guard to secure his safety and wellbeing, how could anyone say to rifles and grub? And besides, this would give him a chance to do some good, for once.

Are you interested in a leadership position?: Yes, while Jason is trying to turn over a new leaf, some habits just die hard. The Idea of being at the top is just too good for him to pass down.

Describe your character's background & motives for enlisting in the National Guard:
His falafel stall was held under extortion rates by the CTE, every week they'd come with a new request for payment, and every other week it'd come with the caveat of 'interest'. He got real fed up, real fast. No other employment offers a per diem insurance against retribution by CTE than a government position.

He's got no real interest in beating people around or resorting to shakedowns, but when it comes to government control of stores and town-resources, he sees it as the only real option for him. Once the streets are wiped clean and the Statul Roman has whipped up the corner he used to operate on, he can retire with a nice badge, veteran benefits and an unmolested food-stall.

Are you interested in a leadership position?:
In-game I'm okay with it. Any OOC leadership I'm uninterested in.

Describe your character's background & motives for enlisting in the National Guard:
An older gentleman and doctor from Sosnoweic, and a Jew; never the best in combat, really quite bad when it came to using a firearm, but what he lacked in actual combat prowess was his skills in medicine and surgery. He tagged along with various groups, looking for somewhere to get by and looking for safety, never one to get too much into the fray but always there to provide medical and spiritual aid to those injured and friends of the fallen.

Almost seen as a grandfather figure to his friends, it was clear that he was not a man God had built to battle, but instead one to aid through speech and medical aid; he lived a large portion of his life as a pacifist, believing that violence was not the answer to conflict, though gradually as the occupation came to an end and the world became near lawless, the only thing he found that could protect himself and others was usually a gun, even if they were kept unloaded.

He gradually made his way through Romania into Bucharest, and upon seeing the situation with the city he made the effort to join, wanting to put his more peaceful, medically-inclined demeanour to good use through tending as someone focused on playing both war medic and war chaplain respectively.
