Help with the console not letting me do /mes

This problem has been frustrating the hell out of me you see when i try to /me on the console (For workshifts) It never works and yes i verified the game cache does anyone know how to fix this?

you have to type say /me dances

and it does
/me dances
which is
**cool dude dances

Yes i do /me it says when i try to do it unknown command oddly enough i haven't seen anyone have this problem.

you're supposed to enter this command

say "/me *enter your text here* "

look man,
copy this into your console, just as it is

say "/me test"

nothing more
just copy this into the typing box in your console (make sure it's empty) and it will work

cwcmd me "enter your action here"

say command is disabled in cw, for some reason
