Just figured it'd be cool to share ideas for video games that we've brainstormed. Like for example:
A Halo game set during the insurrection that plays like the original Ghost Recon games. You get put in charge of a squad of ODSTs or like ONI commandos and you're dropped into a big open map with a bunch of objectives that you can complete in whatever order you like however you like. You'd have full customization of you and your squad's equipment and weapons, you could select different insertion points for the beginning of certain missions, there would be dynamic side objectives that could pop up mid-mission, dynamic weather, dynamic enemy patrols, etc.

One I’ve wanted to try out but have struggled with fully working out in terms of the internal economics is a Micromanagement game where you play the role of an international arms dealer during the Cold War in the 80’s.

The objective is to basically make as much profit as possible by any means before the game ends at the year 1991. You have to take into consideration transportation costs, political stability of countries as well as supply & demand of what countries are wanting.

Just because somewhere in Africa is offering big bucks for a certain firearm doesn’t mean that it’ll definitely get there safely; meaning you lost out on money and stock.

Throw in some black market mechanics, various upgrades such as an increase in stock capacity or defence upgrades to transportation (armoured cars, PMC’s etc) along with your sales affecting the outcome of the Cold War in some shape and I’d imagine that you’d have a highly enjoyable micromanagement experience.

You can pretty much do all of this with the Arma 3 operation trebuchet mod

Another idea for a game:

A multiplayer Terminator game that's in the vein of the Murder game modes from Garry's Mod. 3 people would play per game, one person would play the terminator, one person would play the target and the third would play the resistance member sent back in time to protect them. Each player would get dropped into a big open GTA style version of 1980s Los Angeles populated with NPCs and random happenings.

The terminator and the protector would know who the target is, but they wouldn't know who eachother are and the game would give no indication that they're a player until they engage in combat. The target would have no idea who either the protector or the Terminator is, and their appearance would be randomly generated each time so that way you wouldn't be able to easily pick them out of a crowd of NPCs. This would encourage the Terminator and protector to stalk and observe the target before making a move out of fear of revealing themselves to the other. Despite knowing who the target is, you don't know where they are at first. It'll be up to the protector and terminator to find clues to the target's whereabouts. The target will look the same every time so that way it isn't hair-tearingly frustrating to find them. This would only apply at first, and once the Terminator and protector engage eachother in combat for the first time they would be marked by player icons whenever the two are in each other's line of sight again.

There would be GTA style mechanics in place, like being able to steal any vehicle you want and rob stores for supplies and such. There would also be a police presence in place where if the Terminator or the protector get into trouble it would either steadily increase if you put up a fight or go back to normal if you evade them for a while. This would encourage more low-profile sneaky play from both sides. The police obviously wouldn't be a direct threat for the Terminator as he can't be hurt by small arms fire, but the police would be a waste of time and resources if he were to choose to engage them.

Damage mechanics would be fairly detailed for the human players, as they would take localized damage to the head, legs, torso, etc, and grievous injuries would be able to incapacitate them or prevent them from performing certain functions, in addition to bleeding over time from gunshots and other trauma. The terminator would be impervious to small arms fire, though larger caliber weapons such as magnum revolvers and shotguns would be able to put him on his ass for a brief period of time. There would be no anti-material weapons or armor piercing rounds to make things easier, sorry. He can be damaged by explosives or massive physical trauma such as a great fall or being crushed with immense force like say, in a hydraulic press. He would also be vulnerable to powerful electrical discharges and things like freezing with liquid nitrogen or melting him with molten metal (the three classic methods of dispatching a Terminator would of course be in the game as tributes to the first two movies) would destroy him for good. The terminator would also take compartmentalized damage like the human players, but the only difference is that repairing the endoskeleton would be costly on resources and would also require the Terminator to cut away part of their skin to affect repairs. Therefore the more damage a Terminator takes through the round, the easier he'll be to spot from his exposed endoskeleton.

The objective of the game is simple: The terminator must kill the target to win. Killing the protector is optional. The protector must destroy the Terminator and keep the target alive. If the protector dies it then falls to the target to destroy the Terminator and win.
