Serious [Review] Art of The Week

Hey everyone, its been a while. Last year of uni now and i got a week off so I made a poster for a local record shop.

I have not been here in ages, nor have i played anything nebulous related in ages, but I like to return to my roots so to speak.
Thanks to nebulous I always tried doing some creative stuff, etc. I laid it off for a long long while, but at the beginning of the year I started learning blender and would like to share my first somewhat finished project. (Many pics lol)

It's been a while since I've done some Gmod scene making...
Already know of the improvements.. lighting needs work to show more of the features of the sitting down figure.. and maybe some more Xen infection props to give it a more 'overgrown' feeling.
But sadly I made this after closing the game.. F

Got into Warhammer 40k recently. Only got two painted so far. first attempt didn't have everything I needed, didn't thin paints enough, and lousy brush work. But my second go definitely I'm happy with.

Best advice I can give, remember to thin your paints

very simple to do, just mix in a bit of water on your pallet/the lip of the paint lid with the paint in, and apply with that



other than that, looking good, necrons' eyes standing out very nicely

Ended up getting a wet pallete so that'll be easier moving forward.

Although the first one was actually more the result of me trying to use purely speed paints at first only to realize it wasn't coating fully so I kept putting layers on. Then finally got some citadel pots and messed around. Firsty may not be perfect but he'll always be special.
