while we are all her e, i'd like to take a moment to share with you (The Nebulous Cloud), my two favourite images and pictures ever taken or created.
first of all, my second most favourite image i have seen manifested in many forms over the years, but the thematicism remains thick in every iteration. As a nice small baseline image to showcase this, i present David Bowie, Björk and Thom Yorke all preoccupied with pre-internet computers, the lot of them presenting vastly different states of mind. Bowie, taking on an almost condescending assertative posture toward the device, sits at the top, dominating the picture, leaving the remaining space for Björk and Thom. Björk, hand on the keyboard looks as if she is busy but did not mind the interruption of the photograph, indicating a sense of cordiality with the device and with teh photographer. Thom, on the other hand, is stuck in some advanced window on the desktop, clearly not making much progress in utilizing the device due to the complexity of the user interface. Perhaps because of this, he presents a more tired, lethargic disposition, both toward the device and toward the photographer.
the multifaceted expressions found within this very simple iteration of the image makes it one of my top favourites ever scoured from the internet.
this next one, however, is my absolute favourite picture ever taken. This one does not require as much explanation, as I think the center motif and assembly of the picture speaks for itself. It is, of course, Nikita Khrushchev holding a corn cob.
