anyone invested enough in star wars shouldn't pick up the movies
the books (and comics!!!) are 20x better for lore and story material.
alternatively kotor, swtor and other older starwars games are also a great alternative to the movies.
the movies themselves are so sparse, so surface level that its kinda underwhelming (and confusing in the prequels)
