TF2: 'Failed to create decoder for MP3 ([path/to/file.mp3])'

Hello! Running Fedora Linux 23, 64 bit on LXDE desktop, fresh install of TF2 and OS.
Whenever I launch the game, join into a server, none of the characters have voices at all, and an error of 'Failed to create decoder for MP3 [(path/to/file.mp3)]'
sorry if this has already been mentioned or whatever.
anybody know causes or possible fixes? I've tried ridding sound.cache, then running snd_restart when I launch into the game, and verifying game cache.

but uhh anyway, same problem is for me, i dunno, maybe some mods do that??

i've been told i need to install the 32-bit codecs, which i did. not much came from it though
and it's not mod based

i re-checked my cache and the sounds started to work, so idk about you man
