JUDICIAL FILING PROCESS
When making a plead to the Court, all persons are required to do so through the proper channels. Filing with the Court is the first step in the Judicial process, whether you are seeking a suit against an individual or institution which you believe has wronged you, disputing charges levied against yourself, filing charges as a member of the District Attorney's Office, or seeking relief in Small Claims Court.

Here you will find the appropriate formats you will use to style your plead to the Los Santos County Courthouse. If you are being represented by an attorney, it is generally advisable that your attorney should act on your behalf in filing your case. Alternatively, if you are filing as a licensed Attorney, you may format your case filings in an appropriate manner, so long as they contain all necessary and relevant information.

After a case has been filed, notice will be given to all named parties involved in the matter. The Court will arrange a date for the hearing that is satisfactory to all involved persons such that they are able to be present at the scheduled time. Once the date has been finalized, a formal notice will be issued.

All persons named in your filing should have relevant contact information attached, such as their E-Mail. If you have been named as a Litigant or Defendant in a case, once you have contacted your legal counsel, they may contact the Court directly to notify them that they have decided to represent you in the ongoing case.

Please note: The State is only required to provide legal counsel if you are disputing a criminal charge, or criminal charges have been filed against you. If you are named in a lawsuit, or are filing a lawsuit, you will be required to seek out legal representation of your own accord. The State will not provide financial compensation for attorneys representing an individual in a lawsuit.

A form to request a redacted copy of an incident report has been added. Individuals or their assigned legal counsel may request these redacted reports for purposes relating to legal representation. The Court reserves the right to deny a request if it is deemed frivolous, i.e. there is no sufficient reasoning to request the report.
