Representative democracy exists for this reason, friend. However, most countries don't have it, or pretend to have it to look better.

I can guarantee you from Italy that representative democracy is a clusterfuck of burocracy and filibustering where, despite everyone is represented, no party hold real power and can't do anything without ally with different other parties of parallel ideologies in order to get the majority of the votes in parliament and after that backstab each other and blame their failure on the opposition of other parties alliances, then the following elections the other side wins and the cycle goes on. The only thing they all agree on is keeping their benefits and their status, so much in fact that this Autumn we have to vote in a referendum in order to change the constitution and at least try to reduce this.
