Can't speak for FTRP since I never bothered and will be occupied with HL2RP, but I have a feeling it had a fairly good reception on LP before it turned into QZRP.
It's with Toasty and Powley in front, so I can only anticipate positive things about it.
To be honest with you, I've never really tried what FTRP has to offer.
I've never tried QZRP, hell, I don't even know what it is to be honest.
But what I do know is HL2RP is a damn well near passion to me, I love it... Hyped up as shit for it too.
There is no reason not to try both, even when I was staff on HL2 I still always had time for FT. From my experience in LP HL2 was always more focused on slow passive roleplay most of the time where as FT/QZ had more actions involved and I've always liked both game modes.
I was asking myself the same question but settled for HL2RP as it's been a favourite of mine for a long time and I never played LP's version of it.
But like said before, it depends what you're after. Never played FTRP but I'd guess that's more about building up your supplies and then surviving or forming groups.
HL2RP is about being oppressed and living under those conditions, FTRP has more freedom to it.
