I don't know how you would even remotely be able to enforce this. It's moronic to even make it a rule in the first place. Willard tried to "ban" using discords and whenever admins caught wind of a rebel group using discord the group would essentially be forced to invite a bunch of server admins and give them roles that allowed them to see everything. It was absolute cringe and if you expect banning it to work you're very wrong

Banning the use of Discord is impossible but with the lack of PK's (which are the main source of that sort of thing) it becomes a lot easier to pick apart active and intentional meta.

People doing shit like racing across the city to save their friend with no IC contact is pretty easy to track down.

Very much this
it's outright easier and lessens much workload to simply allow it albeit at cost of discouraging its use or otherwise holding it on a form of 'it cannot be used to share essential information' and relying on the honor system
go with that, you get people who see those seldom few whom still metagame - those players start to avoid the players they recognize whom metagame, the players are filtered out by players, not staff
meanwhile staff get to focus more time and effort on the other issues and rules

I honestly think people misunderstood which is understandable given how it was worded.

You're not gonna get banned for using Discord but you'll be banned if you get caught metagaming (which is gonna be way easier than on HL2RP given there's no real way to hide what can be metagamed behind layers of IC).

Yeah overall you can tell it's a metagame if someone actually observes you, while in HL2RP is just a guess that can only be proven via severe evidence, cue hours of investigation as PK management for proof

Haven’t noticed anyone saying meta gaming is fine though more so people just discussing what constitutes as meta game and about if discord is fine
