I'm not sure if it's already been asked, but how do you plan to handle NPC pop in/out that happens on other servers? I've seen various incidents in the bits I've seen where an entire streets worth of NPC's have respawned, or where car chases have been messed up by NPC drivers spawning inside of/right infront of/behind player cars.

I know on NoPixel for instance this made an on going joke about how some NPC's are ghosts, haunting the city, leading to some funny ghostbuster kinda situations.

Which also leads me to ask, how far are we going with realism on our server? Would the concept of ghosts be just a "you're a bit crazy" or an actual accepted reason for NPC's bugging out? Also likewise, NoPixel had a brief superhero/villain arc, but I don't recall if they actually had powers, or if they were LARPers in the end, and also there's the case of robots and machines, would they be allowed/accepted or would we be ruling them out for sake of realism? Arguably one of my favourite characters from NoPixel was one such robot, Rob Otte, a member of the Dan Clan.

I feel it'd be nice to let slip the seriousness that we've grown kind of accustomed to with HL2RP and let creative freedom have a little bit more to run with, especially a GTA5 is pretty wacky as a base game anyway, and shit like Aliens already exist, right?

It’s not something you can control. Cars are spawned by players, many players with different pings will have different delays and so you can end up with pop-in or weird AI spawns.

They’re usually caused ghost cars as an in-character term, not really to imply it’s haunted in some way.

Fair enough on the uncontrollability bit, though on the name bit, but I definitely recall seeing a group of people doing a ghostbuster/paranormal activity on-going bit, so would that be something we'd allow here or no? And what about the rest of the post?

Yeah I mean, if you wanna roleplay ghost busting I don’t see why you can’t. The GTA world is crazy as-is and that’s why we enjoy it for our next project, it’s so much more flexible than anything else we’ve done.

There will be a lot of creative freedom.

It's finally update time! We've decided to start polishing off some features to the point we can consider them "basically done". Finishing the last 20% of something takes much longer than we thought...

Our main focus areas for this update includes phone apps, the banking system, and items. You'll be interacting with every one of these pretty often, so it's important that we get them working smoothly.

As always, what you see here is still a work in progress. Get notified of future updates by watching this forum!

Messaging
Contacts and messages. The cornerstone of any mobile device.

Banking
Our banking system is now fully functional and supports different currency types. All bank transactions are saved and can be potentially viewed by law enforcement, so you might want to stick to cash for certain things.

Taxi
Need a ride? Maybe some easy cash? The taxi app is for you. Just remember that you're on the hook for making sure you get your money.

Items
It's the core of the roleplay experience, so it deserves some love.

Item Shop
If you're suffering from idle hands, you can always head on over to the convenience store and grab some FDA-approved cigarettes.

Usability
Items now have icons, stacks of items can be split, and items can be dropped on the ground so others can pick them up. The hotbar will peek itself when you use items, and interactable items will tell you why they might be unusable.

Deployables
Law enforcement will have various tools at their disposal to help tackle the inevitable high-speed chase.

Accessibility
We want as many people as possible to play, and be comfortable doing so. We're adding a few accessibility options to try and facilitate this. Please let us know of other things that we can try and accomodate (or if our colourblind options aren't quite right; none of the development team is actually colourblind!)

Good to see you guys have thought about accessibility. I volunteer doing accessibility consulting so would love to discuss this topic further with you aswell as discuss some ideas.
