Also you can't really force rebels to fight eachother, tbh, because invariably they get tired of it because they're the only backdrop they have. They can't wander off and do other things or focus on other things to detox.

It worked well in the city because you had groups OOCly invested in retraining power and access to resources; they'd pick fights and kill to keep that sort of control - as crappy as it was for everyone else.

Yeah, you often require some sort of struggle for resources or space for any large scale rebel conflict.

While its true that a lot of them were often personal, almost all of them came from disagreements over something material and escalated from there. Additionally, the Combine in this iteration is much more of a prime target; They are guaranteed to shoot back at you, and a large majority of rebels have a means to combat them. It's not like in a city environment where trying to poke at the proverbial bear was incredibly risky and only for the most brave of souls.

Not saying its impossible to have rebel v. rebel conflict in this environment mind you, but its not surprising its way less common than it used to be

some quick points on the firebug situation:

1. combine mortar was never supposed to be fired unless firebug was already in the pod & drained for his power, so it being fired today gave rebels the indication that he was already inside of it and siphoned to death

2. there was a lack of clarification on the idea that rebels "would have 24 hours to rescue firebug after he entered the pod" (i literally was never told about this i dont know where brandon is pulling it from)

3. the pod in the first place was spotted ICly yesterday while the rebels were on a separate job, which was part of the intelligence they had in anticipating his final drainage session

4. firebug should have had a good escape two days ago regardless; he climbed over a hole in the wall legitimately but was teleported into a mine via staff error. at the time we NLRed him and gave him an extra day but had that not happened it was a near guaranteed that he'd have made off into the rebel side before cops even knew what was happening

5. in the end, another vortigaunt died instead; and was likely already dead. not this "oOOuhh rebels Killed Their OWn Vort" shit.

Numbers put fourth the suggestion with an extended 24 hour period for one last-ditch rescue attempt once he's in the pod on the grounds that he had to 100% rely on outside help and would be practically on deaths bed for two shots per day. I had just assumed he told you of it, woops

Why are Lambda characters with RPG's and snipers being sent in to fix Rebel problems, why can't actual characters be given the equipment necessary to handle their own issues?

I've personally seen Cops turn down informants myself, so it's not like this situation was isolated.

I told him (or the other person? I do not know who is who?) that I do NOT have a basketball but can stop the sniper:

Which they were not interested in, so I came to the IC conclusion that the armed hobos who were shot at by an OTA sniper that came to us and offered us the whole world (and neglected to report a gun one of them carrying) for a basketball might not in fact be legitimate and called them out on the fact that their deal indeed appears "improbable", which they could have easily deflected with actually providing any piece of information, but chose to throw a "no! we want basketball!" tantrum so I kicked them out because the prospects of any serious cooperation appeared to be laughable at best
If I, on the other hand, had abused pet flags and asspulled a basketball instead and then received the intel in exchange, there would be even more forums complaints except this time it would be about how informant characters are fucking bullshit (such complaints already appear btw, just not in public yet from what I can see)

Listen, sometimes it does genuinely feel like you see two roads in a situation and intentionally take the shitty one - but I'm also not gonna be critical when nah, you actually genuinely have a point.

I think the issue is right here in this post, and it's that you go off other people's words (which you do not verify, even if they're not lying they may be wrong or their POV be different from reality) to get into things that you are not involved in by a long shot to drop snide remarks (refer to the other posts Simman quoted), and then act offended when someone tells you off about it.

You could have asked any of the cops what happened to the b-ball hoop (that we had?)
You could have put in a request for one.

Simman flat out told me that I was wrong and quoting supposed misinformation. He's just said that they surely asked for, and were denied their basketball, which was the crux of my statement.

Recent protocol does affect me, it's one of the reasons why I haven't been flagging on my cop, I just haven't voiced my concerns because they can be taken to PM's.
