There are a ton of games, like Ark, DayZ, and Rust, which seem to constantly be in early access, but never leave it. In your opinions, do you think it is worth these type so of games? What do you think are the reasons of these, are they just used by the people who make them to excuse game breaking things? Just for the controversy?

I ask all this, because I'm also thinking about getting Rust, thoughts?

DayZ's been in development all this time, albeit slow because of their work behind the curtains and they'll be hitting beta with the next patch (.63) which will be bringing a whole load of improvements. If I remember correctly.

dayz is not worth the time and money. it was worth it in the beginning, when it was being updated constantly and you didn't really know what you were getting into, nowadays the devs push out an update extremely slowly and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. it's just a lost cause, imo, ever since that retarded creator dean hicks left the project.

That's interesting, although, I was just using that as an example, I'm talking more about the encompassing trend of early access games, not any one in particular, as well as people's thoughts on various ones, if they like them or not, etc etc.

If anything, I'm more interested in Rust, if that's any good

Stranded deep

Awful Early access game, it's like if subnautica took place in the modern day and all the creativity perished in the crash that got them there.
has been on early access for two years and is still hasn't even got to beta or version 0.4

There's a crafting game which has unique crafting? Are you on LSD? Or is it actually unique (which is the first sign of the apocalypse)

Subnautica's water is sexy as fuck too, and at least that one has stuff to do in it.
Stranded is either the same copy paste island and wrecks or a featureless ocean.

a really good game that's in early access at the moment is "Playerunknown Battlegrounds". it's early access, but still enjoyable and with a lot of players

Is it a very demanding game? I've just got a laptop (Kms) so it can't handle things that are too intensive, I've seen it and it looks pretty good though

yeah so Rust has been in Alpha for 4 years now.
i cant really complain about rust, it's a fantastic game as it is

it's had a weird course of development, switching engines or w/e but it gets weekly updates nowadays with updates that actually matter
also the player interactions on it are awesome, because players can do whatever they want, you can have some of the most unique experiences in any game

I love Rust. I play one a potato and run it at about 35 frames at mostly everything low. There's some packs that you can download and put in your files to make it look like it's being run on a burnt piece of bread, but it's definitely playable on a shit comp.
[doublepost=1500392977][/doublepost]The Forest is also pretty cool, the devs of it are finally starting to add new features and stuff

Subnautica is the best early access game I ever played in my entire life. Afaik, its been in early access for a long time though, but it is releasing soon by end of July. Or August.

This game has seriously more depth than most survival/exploration games out there. The convenience, survival and uniqueness aspect of it is what makes it interesting. It's not one of those survivalopen world games with no objectives. It has a story and the lore on it is pretty interesting.

Stranded Deep is disappointing not going to lie. It was good at first but it became like most generic survival games out there and doesn't get anymore development. Along with other games like FarSky, etc. I regret paying for Stranded Deep

subnautica has made a lot of improvements, but it's taking ages to become a full game, pretty much like The Forest

the problem is that most early access games are survival games and get always stuck in the early access status

Not really a problem imo if the games are already really good (i.e. Subnautica and Rust) when in Early Access stages.
