The twist was good. Acting was.. Alright, I guess? It was standard. The ending made up for it though.

Yeah it was alright, just watched it today.
And to be honest, seeing Darth Maul alive is just surprising, I mean, he got his fucking legs cut off, fell off from a high height and basically lost genital.
But its Star Wars man, make things unrealistic so then you can make 'em look cool.

was good imo, some quite funny parts

donald glover playing himself (good)
woody harrelson playing himself (good)
solo was good
feminist britbong robot was a bit weird but hey

goty what's her name was shit and an empty character imo, cringy as fuck delivery on basically all her lines

the amount of "twists" in the last act was comical, although not entirely annoying

also the darth maul bit was confusing but k

mediocre, but it was fun, too many things explained without needing explanation (e.g: han's name), too much fanservice for ppl who didn't watch clone wars, i did so i had no issues with it but yeah
6/10 better than the last jedi

The cast was great and I felt like they performed their roles really well. The somewhat more right side of 'youtube media' when it comes to movies complaining about L3 also made me really like the character, because it surprised me positively and I thought she was pretty damn funny.

Same case with the entire movie. I was expecting Star Wars and it's what I got, so ye it was a good and fun movie.

Maul used the dark side of the force and his hatred towards General Kenobi and was found by a nightbrother and weird night sister magic shit and then he took over Mandalore and shit and he was in Star Wars Rebels and well you should just watch how his story really ends.

Watched it two days ago and loved it. By far the best film of the "new" generation of Star Wars films imo

I have always loved Han Solo and always wanted to see more of him, so this movie was a big hype for me. My favorite parts of the movie was when Han met Chewie for the first time and we could see how he grew more and more fond of Han, as well as basically all the scenes with the millennium falcon (gambling for it, flying it ,walking around inside of it etc).

And something that actually kinda surprised me was that I found the L3 droid legitametly funny. I thought it would be much worse but her jokes and lines were almost always quite funny, specially the scene in the falcon cockpit when Lando asks if she wants anything (think that's what he asked heranyways) and she responds with "equal rights". Gave me a good laugh.

The only good thing about the film were the callbacks.

rogue one was the best out of the most recent disney movies

the best part in solo was harrelson's performance and the multiple twists towards the end that i felt would happen in han's world of crime
tbh rouge one and solo were really similar in the pace and shit

i disagree

rogue one had its footing down much more securely when looking for the archetypal exposition, climax and denouement triangle - it had a character set-up, problem, action and resolve (that being lah'mu at the start where you meet galen and jyn, as well as krennic and gerrera. being tasked by the rebellion to find jyn's dad, his death, the search and ensuing fight for the death star plans on scarif and their respective deaths). to me it felt like rogue one had talking, action, talking, action etc. at a good pace, whilst solo was all over the place with how it wanted to tell its story.

solo felt like a heist/crime movie that had been dummed down for a child audience where its formula has been done much better elsewhere. a forgettable movie with the shoehorned 'le epic likeable droid character' and such. and if that wasn't enough, the story was unnecessary to the character of han, considering he's one of the most solid characters in terms of backstory and personality as is.

what do you mean by this? it told the story of how han met chewie, what he was doing before becoming a smuggler, how he met lando and became friends, how he got his signature gun, how he aquired the millennium falcon etc. I thought it was pretty nice seeing all of this.

Because by explaining it, some of the mystery and charm is lost

Explaining why he has the 'Solo' part of his name is pointless and adds a silly meaning to something that didn't need it

Also the film fails to show how Han Solo can communicate with Chewie in his own language despite the film never showing exactly how he learned that at all + Chewie understands English so why doesn't he understand him the first time?
