Now, it seems that because my mother got a pretty fucking high debt at our Provider, she got cut off today, and due to her being dependant of the state, means she can't spend Money on her own, I may not even be able to participate.

Is anyone here planning to record the entire event? I'd fucking pay for that shit, I would hate to miss it.

Hope everything works itself out bro. I plan to record a little bit, mainly things I feel are share worthy- If I do find anything like that, I’ll post them to the screenshot thread/make my own thread for mine, and other event videos.

Love you dude. It'd suck when I can't even be in, pretty much, the first event I could actually join. Still a chance it all Works out, although it's very small, since services are quitte Slow in this country.

If you pay for your phone plan you can just mobile hotspot it, used to live on a farm with no wifi and I hotspotted heaps, rping doesn’t use as much data as you’d think, just keep off YouTube cus that’ll burn through it

If nothing Works, I may do that, buy an extra thing for that, I still got 30 EUROs, so that should perhaps be enough to buy atleast like 5 Gigabites. Anyone able to provide me any stats on how much data GMOD consumes / and how to reduce it?

Legit bro you won’t even need a gig, it doesn’t use shit, maybe 20 mb an hour

Just don’t download or stream anything

+ No Voice Chat, and no Special downloads (Although, Event Music)

Any staff able to provide any stats on how much that stuff uses?

Team speak doesn’t use much either, I’ve been on when ambient music is being played and I doesn’t seem to change much although I’m not as sure about that one

No, I don't know of any commands that would lower data usage. Using a mobile hot-spot is a bit of a technical abnormality with GMod. I doubt your connection will be all that great, but I suppose it doesn't matter on a slow-paced SeriousRP server.

That being said you can change the maximum # of packets sent to the server from your client per second. That command is cl_cmdrate and the default listed on Valve's wiki is 30.

Then there is "rate" which Valve says is "Max bytes/sec the host can receive data" This defaults at 12000. You can set this by typing rate "value" and perhaps try setting this to 10000.

All I can advise is tracking your data usage. If its consuming lots of data, stop playing. Will it consume lots of data? Probably not. Will these two commands help? Probably not much but its worth a shot.

Guys, I love you all, I hotspotted my Phone's Internet to my Computer now, and bought a 20 GB SIM yesterday, so I should be able to play during the Event. <3
