What impact has Helix had on the community and the experience on the server in comparison to the Clockwork era?

massive shifts in mindsets regarding rebelrp. people are more concerned with actually doing things now as opposed to just stockpiling gear.

perhaps i’m a bit biased with this one, but i think @bjfgpkqkdmtnspwndsjt ’s hl2rp poses started a bit of a counterculture in terms of hl2rp. 2016, people started arguing for a more lax, less stringent approach to hl2rp that included concepts like cps operating more like a traditional police force, a human dispatch, more corrupt/self-centered cops, more drugs, fewer restrictions on narcotics and food, etc.

.

It has became too popular to the point I now must go against them and create a world that is equally despised by Lorefagots and the people who plucked out, bastardised and disseminated the themes of my poses

c24 has a great rebel zone but that’s about it it’s just too laggy

when c24 swapped I was so relieved until we went to d47 and I couldn’t possibly think we’d be on d47 for longer than 3 months

not really that significant or impactful, but I'd say terrorwave Helix rebels killing 5 senators in the space of like 4 months was pretty cool

Hows this?

Significant cultural events:
Inspirational poses
bjfgpkqkdmtnspwndsjt shared some Half-Life 2 poses that represented a different interpretation of day-to-day life under Combine rule. This seems to have had an impact on the desires of the HL2RP playerbase, and as a result; dee pixel notes: "people started arguing for a more lax, less stringent approach to hl2rp that included concepts like cps operating more like a traditional police force, a human dispatch, more corrupt/self-centered cops, more drugs, fewer restrictions on narcotics and food, etc."

Red Letter Day
The closure of Clockwork, and the impact of Helix were significant. On 20th September 2018 the Red Letter Day event was announced, and on 6th October the event concluded the run of the Half-life 2 lore during the Clockwork era to what was received as a satisfying ending. After an engagement during the uprising, an outro read "ASSIGNMENT: TERMINATED. DIMENSION CONVERGENCE EVENT DETECTED. TRANSFERRING SUBJECT FREEMAN. RE-SETTING MISSION PARAMETERS. RESTARTING..."

Helix
At the conclusion of Red Letter Day, Helix then replaced Clockwork, and rebel roleplay was improved by the removal of the business menu, which stopped the item shipment system. This, coupled with the fact that all the item inventories were essentially wiped meant that items were no longer being hoarded. Many serious roleplay servers had been seen as item-gathering experiences like MMORPGs, but now the economy was different on nebulous HL2RP, as players stopped farming tokens for shipments, and didn't worry so much about losing all their items.

If you’re talking about Helix in general rather than just lore side, I’d cover the fact that the gamemode itself is far better for the number of players Nebulous is used to that CW - allowing us to expand our capabilities that CW was basically strangling us with.

Helix increased the potential number of playerslots?
