Nobody would be forcing you to use the Compass man. That's why it'd be an optional buy in the Hardware store and wouldn't be something you have from the get go.
i don't think a gps should be in the corner of anyone's screen period.
an actual compass yes. all that N-S-E-W-NW-SW-NE-SE goodness. a more expensive one that can add just a street name is palatable, even. a handheld (can't radio, can't be on/use your phone, no gun or other object in hand), vision eating (see just the very edges of your screen at best), force-walking-no-running map is fair.
a straight up gps no. especially when there's literally zero drawback and breaks immersion the way it does. and once you start treading into "well you don't have to use it" you're basically telling people they're gonna have to use it to have the upper hand when in war or getting into shit with the cops. i think you should have to be relying on actual map knowledge in this shit, not rely on pinpoint visual gps.
if you want gps get in the car lol. or just take the second to hit escape and look i guess. but it has no place being there on the hud. that's some gta online shit. it really is.
learn to navigate, please. learn landmarks. i'm getting the vibe some people aren't even
trying to learn their surroundings and just expect it to be spoonfed instead.
Nobody would be forcing you
funny cause i had this same take about an emote command but apparently merely having the option of a typed command was more than enough to break max's own immersion, funny how that works :^)
