I want to dedicate this thread towards one of the best movie directors and creators that ever walked into this earth, born in 1932 and died in 1986 because of the movie STALKER, he filmed too close to the NPP, got iradiated, developed cancer and died.

Some of you probably know him jut for the movie STALKER, but there are many others just as good if not even better. I'll toss you a video of an interview with him, how he explains the creation of his movies and the messages he's trying to send.
He died poor and it took about 20 years for his movies to start being appreciated.

You can see very well how the slavs or more specifically Russians in this case think about sci-fi. Americans are oriented on incredible technology while slavs have their books and movies more about philosophy. You see the awesome movie of Stalker and the book of Metro, being only two of the many cases.

Get your toxic ass out of here please, I'm trying to be serious here while the stereotypical "FUCK SLOVAKIA" Czech asshole does nothing but hate.
Also, if you don't know already, there was a thing called Czechoslovakia where we were like brothers, but idiots like you managed to break it apart.

EDIT: @gExile I bet you don't know shit about Slovakia but only clicked the agree button because you're against my opinions in other threads.

I had more than enough of "nothing but banter" from random people, that's why I'm usually serious if not around close friends.

Exactly, there's a very different vision of western sci fi vs eastern and honestly most of the sci fi movies / novels from the western part have become repetitive and mundane, nothing new, just rebranded stuff. They twist the story over and over again to try and milk it for the last time. Hell, I'd like to see something more from this polish painter, I even ordered all the paintings from a website because of how beautiful they are, a great vision on how he thought the future would be using giant robots fueled by diesel added with the regular peasants working the field.

He also named one of the robots a "Husar", sounds good, probably because hussars were actually a thing.

They were one of the most fierce mounted cavalry, you did /not/ want to be in their way.
The wings were a great fear factor for the enemy, worked like a charm.

I know, how can I not if they're slavs fighting other slavs.
