    "Hey look, another nebulous map project that'll never get finished."

    So due to lockdown-boredome I've decided to take on the challenge of making a HL2RP map like a lot of other people.

    Set in Detroit, the map will be more on the smaller side. It'll feature the key elements that any HL2RP map should have, however I'm not doing a designated area for rebels. Rebels will need to rely on areas that are out of sight, such as alleyways and backyards.
    Also keep in mind this map will not be centered around Nebulous' needs, so it's unlikely there'll be any UIL areas and stuff like that.

    So far I'm still in the block-out stage, I'll be sharing my progress on this thread until map completion (or until I die from a Hammer Editor migraine), if I get that far that is.

    you say this with the best of intentions but trust me

    you cannot adequately govern players into adopting stealth through map design, best thing you can do is make a lot of tunnels and push the players to constantly run around if they're running from cops/trying to head somewhere

    this is a community where the vast majority won't be caught dead without a beefy gun and blacksuit

    • Added a CWU area, along alleyway, a small abandoned apartment section and a accessible rooftop. (On the very left of the picture)

    Alright!

    So I've gotten a good concept for the nexus now, and have started building. Now, the concept is rather wacky. Instead of the sewers of the city being controlled by rebels, they've been repurposed as the Combine's Nexus. So yes, the combine are sewer rats now. Here's some pictures :grinning:

    Also for those complaining about no dedicated rebel areas, I have some concepts and plans in the oven, so don't you worry.

    i think replacing the water pit at the bridge with like the big huge pit section with all the pods and rails we have right now would be a bit better
