Alright, well this is a relatively simple question.

If people are allowed photos and gifs of Stalin to be used as profile picture, are pictures and gifs of Hitler also allowed?

I'm simply considering the fact that objectively, Stalin was the worse person and caused more death.

Yeah, I didn't account for people who don't realize most world leaders at the time believed in white supremacy and we're racist.

Stalin was on the winning side of the war, the winning side always gets to write who's evil and who's good, which in turn meant that Stalin didn't go down (at the time) as such a bad guy.

Plus, in our society, Hitler is the literal embodiment of evil.

tldr: What is offensive is subjective, not based on actual deeds but on what people associate with each character.
Hitler = Racist, biggest evil to ever live
Stalin = Commie guy who did some bad stuff but was a lad and helped us kill evil hitler
