This morning I had the most amazing experience in school.
Basically, there's a kid in the lower years, and his grandpa, a black vietnam veteran, came to visit him from America, and the school asked if he could come and speak with us since two of the courses were doing are cold war and civil rights in america.

He told us some really cool shit:

• He's from Newport News, where US aircraft carriers are build
• He went to a segregated all-black school, however there were also Korean kids (assumably children of soldiers from the Korean War)
• He became a musician and toured the states in an R&B band
• He was in the band of fucking Otis Reading
• He was in 2 altercations with the KKK, first time when their bus was shot at from the side of the road
• After playing at Missipi State University, the KKK came and threatened them but they were packing heat so they scared them off by telling them they're ready for a shootout
• He was drafted in 1965
• He passed some academic tests during his military examination so he was put into Admin duty
• He said he wasn't particularly involved in the civil rights movement, however he said he was at the march on washington and saw and heard MLK give the "I have a dream" speech
