what ever happened to snipers. I heard they were a thing a long time in LP I think. Were they too OP?

I don’t recall them being removed for any specific reason, but then again I once killed @Poopship McGee ’s entire 20 or so man patrol while being alone and having a single m24 so I think it’s safe to say no one’s too eager to get them back
