its much better, i adopted mine and she is the best floof ball, and I only paid 700 INS for her (150 pounds) for her, which was basically for her treatment at the shelter plus her being neutered (I got her when she was 4 months old.)

also you're saving another dog from being killed.

Got this little kitty today. Feel a little bad as she's been meowing quite a bit, probably for being lonely and scared as she's away from her siblings and mom. She's a little cute fluffball, has quite a hearty petite and is a very curious and loud purrer. First half of the day she hid in her carrier and curled up on the towel in it, then after a while she came out and explored a little of the room, retreated back and did the same. Fed her a bunch of cat treats and she curled up and napped on my lap for an hour.

it's also not always a possibility to get animals from shelters for most people

in our case we have to buy from a breeder because most border collies in shelters are either ill tempered, too old or have some kind of other problem - all of which could be a problem, because of my brother's autism he already hates the noise dogs make; meaning we need a perfectly tempered pup with good breeding that we can train from the get-go

there's some households that can accommodate previously sheltered animals and some that can't.

but getting homeless animals from shelters is also good
