So I'm gonna get a little sentimental here.

I've grown up with pets in my life - whether it be our Rottweiler, our cat, our (numerous) goldfish or the four Giant African Land Snails I had as a kid. Besides our cat, who was put down at 21 years old when I was about fifteen (so twelve years ago or so now) I only really had a pair of fish that died a year or two later.

And now here I am in 2021 just over a day away from getting a dog, something that I haven't had since I was four years old when our eight year old Rottweiler had to be put down.

Its just really surreal. Its gonna be a very big change too; a change to my responsibilities, my time management and my activity level. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure Obi grows up into a healthy, happy and well-adjusted dog and I honestly can't wait to finally meet him.

She’s 8 weeks old, a Newfoundland, largest of the litter

friendliest thing I’ve seen, she just runs about the room licking people and lounging about

she immediately peed on the carpet

Obi's home! He was sick on the car ride (it was two hours so I can't blame him), got to explore outside and our sitting/dining room, had some lunch and a drink and is now (reluctantly) going to sleep in his playpen
