A lot of Democrats I know would rather have Trump than Hillary

It's really the lesser of two evils unless Bernie can get nominated by the dems or runs as an independent

Trump is the complete anti-thesis of the Democratic party's values and Bernie won't be running as an independent. Unlike Trump, Bernie understands and respects the concept of party unity. Calling Trump the lesser of two evils between him and Clinton is laughable at the very least.

Calling Bernie a socialist is a joke. He's Franklin Roosevelt 2.0, he's on par with early 1950's REPUBLICANS. He's only slightly left of center, a social democrat (new deal democrat) who very much believes in capitalism. People have been dragged so far to the right since Reagan people can't recognize a true centrist when it's right in front of them.

You're what's wrong with this nation. "I don't care." Good, you deserve to get fucked. I hope you're the first one drafted because I certainly won't be.
Whoa, want some food with that salt? I don't care if I get drafted, I'd sign in with the airforce anyway.

In one hand we have this corrupt crooked woman who is well known to have that "double face" syndrome of any celebrity.

And then Trump

I guess we will have to try and see.

Socialism has existed alongside Capitalism in the United States since its inception. They're not mutually exclusive concepts.
I think most people would agree with you, the problem is getting Americans to acknowledge this and realize socialism has benefited them in some way in the past- all that anti communist propaganda from the cold war didn't really help I guess

The Cold War was one of the most destructive things to happen to our country in terms of moving forward and progressing as a nation. Ever since Reagan we've shifted so far to the right it's unbelievable. What was a pretty moderate position for Republicans back in the 1950's is now considered to be "far-left" in 2016. It's almost sickening how far right we've gone since, both of our major parties are right wing parties.

These concepts of universal healthcare, education, and functional minimum wage were widely embraced not too long ago in our nation's history and now they've been tainted by the Cold War.

the communist manifesto was published in 1848
engles and marx werent even born when the declaration of independence was signed in 1776

how can socialism have existed from the time of the founding fathers when its base doctrine wasn't to be written for another 60 years

You don't need some manifesto for socialist programs, ideology, and policy to exist, it's only thanks to later political writings could we define what things are be it communistic, socialistic, or capitalistic. Saying something can't exist because some manifesto wasn't written until years later to define it is beyond fucking stupid.

The concept of socialism itself predates the communist manifesto anyway and goes all the way back to Jesus and The Bible. Academic and political discussion of socialism even pre-dates the communist manifesto by 6 years at the very least.

sanders' policies on social services and taxation probably wouldn't even go through because he'd be deadlocked by congress, so he'd probably end up having a rather tame presidency.

He'd only be deadlocked if the Congress was Republican controlled during his presidency. Democrats tend to fall in line with their party leader. Republicans...Not so much, they have a lot of in fighting.
