some of the achievements are broken anyway
took me over 13k hours to get the addict achievement

I got a tip off from a friend that he was getting on a darkrp server. Most of the people that I know got it achieved it through a similar word of mouth method to jump on the opportunity.

I got the achievement legitimately.

In March of 2018, a Achievement Hunting group '100Pals' had emailed Garry about the achievement. Garry agreed to help the group (which now lists at a few thousand members) and they set up a server on Gmod. I was told by a friend that it was going down and so I put in on my calander.

Garry joined the server and stayed on it for about an hour. You'd join, get the achievement, and then immediately get banned so more people could join. A few hundred people came and I was one of them.

So yeah, I actually got the achievement legitimately.
