They're still working on SteamOS
they may actually be refining Steam Play and using that to make up for lack of SteamOS/Linux support so they make it a far more viable platform without having to harrass devs for supportWell, I didn't say they gave up. I'm just saying that they're backing off, as they removed Steam Machines from Steam front page (happened in april this year).
Also, according to https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=steamos last update was in march, so it's hard to talk about development.

yes pleaseHonestly so long as it isn't fucking card games again I'll be happy to see what they come up with.
I'd be more interested in L4D3 than anything Half-Life at this point though.
